Gu Xingyue entered Shrek Academy, where his rare lightning power and life-giving second martial soul drew the attention of its leaders and made him Mu En’s successor. He reunited with Huo Yutong as she began studying soul tools, then defeated Wang Dong in a dormitory challenge.

• Gu Xingyue chose twin martial souls, gained rank-thirty Soul Elder cultivation, and saved Huo Yutong from a soul beast in the Great Star Dou Forest.
• Huo Yutong gained the Skydream Iceworm as a sentient soul ring and kept its secrets from Gu Xingyue as they traveled toward Shrek with Bei Bei and Tang Ya.
• Gu Xingyue helped Tang Ya kill a Datura Snake, then reached Shrek City and defeated the Inner Court student Xi Xi in his entrance assessment.
• Yan Shaozhe brought Gu Xingyue to the Inner Court, arranged Huo Yutong’s admission to the Soul Guidance Department, and introduced him to Zhang Lexuan and Mu En.

Gu Xingyue defeated Zhou Yi, led his team to victory in the Freshmen Assessment, and grew closer to Huo Yutong before she left to obtain a soul ring. While she was away, he coordinated Shrek’s exchange with the Sun Moon Empire and sparred with Ji Xueyi, leaving the arc with Huo Yutong back at the academy and reunited with him.

• Gu Xingyue challenged Zhou Yi’s teaching methods, fought her, and survived Zhou Yi’s hand-cannon attack before Yan Shaozhe killed Zhou Yi and announced her crimes.
• Gu Xingyue became class monitor, helped Huo Yutong open her grilled-fish stall, and defeated Xu Shanshi to win her Black Tortoise Divine Pill.
• Gu Xingyue gave Huo Yutong the pill and Evergreen Life Vine to refine, while a mysterious voice in her mind agreed to teach her magic in exchange for the vine’s Life Origin.
• Gu Xingyue, Wang Dong, and Xiao Xiao allied with Huo Yutong’s team during the Freshmen Assessment, collected the soul bone, and defeated their opponents to win the championship and Core Disciple places.
• Huo Yutong told Gu Xingyue she had become a Grand Soul Master and left for the Extreme North to obtain a soul ring, asking him to wait for her return.
• Gu Xingyue helped coordinate the Sun Moon Empire exchange and defeated Ji Xueyi and Tang Gang in exhibition matches, then spent several days sparring with Ji Xueyi.

Huo Yutong and Gu Xingyue joined Shrek’s Reserve Team, trained under Mu En, and helped Shrek win the tournament after the Body Sect tried to seize Huo Yutong. Gu Xingyue secured the Snow Empress embryo and shared Life Gold with Huo Yutong before giving Mu En Four-Word Battle Armor as the group prepared to return to the academy.

• Huo Yutong frightened a Frost Giant Python with a simulated hundred-thousand-year soul ring and made Dai Huabing kowtow after winning their wager.
• Xuan Zi selected the Reserve Team and recognized Huo Yutong’s Ultimate Ice, while Gu Xingyue used Battle Armor to defeat seven Inner Court disciples.
• Mu En accepted Huo Yutong as her disciple, taught both students King's Presence, and learned about Gu Xingyue’s plans to monopolize Battle Armor technology.
• The Body Sect tried to seize Huo Yutong during the tournament, but Mu En arrived after Xuan Zi and Jin Hongchen fought its attackers and forced it to withdraw.
• Gu Xingyue helped defeat the Star Luo team, then defeated Xiao Hongchen and joined Huo Yutong to beat the Hongchen siblings and secure Shrek’s tournament victory.
• Gu Xingyue bought the Spirit Devouring Carving Knife and outbid Jin Hongchen for the hundred-thousand-year soul beast embryo containing the Snow Empress.
• Zhongli Wu ordered the Holy Spirit Church to cooperate with the Body Sect against Shrek, while Huo Yutong purified the carving knife and shared its Life Gold with Gu Xingyue.
• Gu Xingyue gave Mu En a completed Four-Word Battle Armor set, and Xuan Zi assembled the group to return to the academy.

Shrek repelled the Body Sect and Holy Spirit Church, then gained Jialing Pass and began building halls for the Original Sin Gods. Gu Xingyue formed a contract with the Auspicious Beast, while Huo Yutong prepared for a possible divine trial and the God of Desire set her sights on Gu Xingyue as a successor.

• Mu En and Xuan Zi fought off Du Bisi, Long Xiaoyao, Ye Xishui, and the Holy Spirit Church, while Xuan Zi broke through to Limit Douluo and became the God of Gluttony’s divine envoy.
• The God of Destruction and the God of Life investigated Gu Xingyue’s Life Blessing and Power of Creation, and the God of Destruction ordered the God of Gluttony to protect him through a divine attendant.
• Mu En claimed Jialing Pass for Shrek and tasked Xuan Zi with establishing a Divine Hall, while the academy organized a delegation to the Heavenly Soul Empire and the Great Star Dou Forest.
• Gu Xingyue formed a Soul Contract with the Auspicious Beast, then absorbed a Thunderclap Infernal Prison Vine’s soul ring and gained Elementalization and the Thunder Spear.
• Xuan Zi’s group killed Feng Ling and forced the Heavenly Soul Emperor to cede Jialing Pass, then destroyed the Death God Envoy’s stronghold on the way there.
