Xiang Liang and Qiao Yu, who had only recently entered the First Institute's grounds, were somewhat surprised.
"They actually changed the rules, and it's become a team competition. That's good news for the higher-ranked people. After all, the strong team up with the strong, and the weak with the weak." Xiang Liang frowned. "That puts us at a disadvantage. Jiang Man wasted quite a bit of our time. He said two days, but it's been over ten, and there's still no sign of him. Who knows where he went."
Qiao Yu sighed with feeling too. "And to think I even prepared someone who could make him suffer. I wonder if he learned about it beforehand and used this to break the trap and toy with us."
Xiang Liang nodded. "That's possible. Someone from the Seventh Institute who came here for the assessment couldn't be all that simple-minded."
Neither of them cared very much.
It had only been a casual bit of manipulation. Seeing Jiang Man suffer would naturally have been good, but not seeing it was hardly a bad thing.
It did not delay their progress.
Nor would they compete with Jiang Man over rankings, since there was absolutely no need.
They had obtained everything they ought to compete for in Foundation Establishment. There was no longer any conflict over rankings.
Their sights were set on Core Formation.
There was no need to take such meaningless rankings to heart. Only Jiang Man needed them.
With seven days remaining, they needed to find teammates.
As for Jiang Man, they were not optimistic about his prospects. After all, he had one teammate from the Second Institute who barely qualified as a genius and one ordinary teammate from the Third Courtyard.
It really was hard to be optimistic.
