Back then, Liu S sui had planted a clump of green bamboo outside White True Person's cave abode. It was lovely.
No one understood that he had planted that bamboo only to have some ready for repairing someone's bamboo recliner.
He had come to Divine End Peak once to repair the bamboo chair. After so many years, he had long since forgotten the scenery on the peak, and everything was unfamiliar.
The cheerful cries of apes rang constantly through the woods on either side of the mountain path, and occasionally, black shadows could be seen moving with extraordinary speed.
Little Lotus was somewhat nervous. When she noticed things flying out of the woods, she was even more startled.
Only a moment later did she realize that what had landed on Liu S sui was a flower and several pieces of fruit.
Still somewhat bewildered and uncertain, she asked, "Is this... their way of welcoming you?"
Liu S sui tucked the flower into his lapel and gave her a piece of fruit. "It seems so."
After eating the fruit, they carefully washed their hands in the stream beside the path and straightened their clothes before climbing the final flight of stone steps.
The stone steps emerged through the mist, ending at the summit. A bamboo chair stood beside the cliff, already old and dilapidated. Its legs were badly worn, leaving it visibly uneven.
Seeing the outrageously handsome man in the bamboo chair, Little Lotus grew even more nervous. Without waiting for Liu S sui to speak, she gracefully bowed down.
Jing Jiu lay in the bamboo chair, holding a grain of sand between his fingers and gazing intently at the porcelain plate. He paid no attention to the footsteps, only turning his head after setting the grain of sand in place.
