Huang Xiao discovered that his heart was pounding fiercely. He felt both apprehensive and excited. Had he truly grasped the meaning of "Heaven and Earth’s Destiny"?
Drawing a deep breath, Huang Xiao calmed himself.
Could it be true? Does "Heaven and Earth’s Destiny" refer to "Heaven and Earth," "The Revolution of Heaven," and "The Way of Heaven"? Huang Xiao asked himself.
This was no groundless guess. The idea had flashed into his mind because he had seen that densely packed list of names from Shaolin Temple.
There were so many names that they had been recorded in abbreviated form. Of course, generations with few members, such as the Jue generation, had their names written in full, including Jueku, Juebei, and so on. But the Kong and Le generations had too many members for all their names to be written out in full.
For instance, one master of the Kong generation was named Kongxing. Rather than recording "Kongxing," the list only gave the character "Xing." Since these were members of the Kong generation, one would naturally know that this master's name was Kongxing.
The same held for the Le generation. Beneath it were many characters, such as "Cheng," "Gu," and "Ding," which naturally corresponded to Lecheng, Legu, and Leding.
It was precisely this that suddenly reminded Huang Xiao of the four characters in the Scripture of Great Peace: "Heaven and Earth’s Destiny."
Following this pattern, Huang Xiao separated them into "Heaven and Earth," "The Revolution of Heaven," and "The Way of Heaven." He knew these three titles, too; they had been mentioned in the table of contents of the Scripture of Southern Florescence. Its Outer Chapters included these three pieces: "Outer Chapters: Heaven and Earth," "Outer Chapters: The Revolution of Heaven," and "Outer Chapters: The Way of Heaven."
