At Liangzhou's eastern border, a party of nearly a hundred waited, with tall horses, luxurious carriages, and a full array of ceremonial banners.
The auras of those standing there were rather intimidating. Clearly, all of these nearly one hundred people were formidable; in the Jianghu, they would certainly have ranked among the foremost powers.
Judging by their appearance, however, they seemed to be waiting to welcome someone.
The four standing at the front were particularly striking. The oldest looked about sixty or seventy, while the youngest looked like a middle-aged man in his forties. All four wore brocade robes and carried themselves with distinction. They were evidently the leaders of this party.
"Why aren't they here yet? The scout reported that they would arrive in an hour. It's been well over an hour now, hasn't it?" one of the four asked.
"Be patient," the oldest said mildly.
Having spoken, he closed his eyes, seemingly resting.
"Fourth Brother, let's just wait a little longer," the youngest man said with a light chuckle, glancing at the man who had spoken.
"Exactly, Fourth Brother. As Second Brother said, we need only wait. What's the rush?" From his words, this speaker was evidently the third brother.
The oldest man present was thus the second brother, which meant they had an eldest brother who was not here.
"If you ask me, they're trying to put us in our place," the fourth brother said resentfully. "He's just a young brat. So what if he's broken through to the Void Martial Realm? How capable can he be when he's only just broken through? If not for his status, I'd split him apart with one palm."
"Fourth Brother, watch your words!" the third brother said.
"What's there to be afraid of? Everyone around us is a trusted subordinate,"
