"Zhang Jianqiao, you're no match for me," Kong Fu said.
"What a joke. Take a look at the wound on your waist before you say that," Zhang Jianqiao said with a cold laugh.
Neither would yield to the other. They were, one might say, six of one and half a dozen of the other.
Zhang Jianqiao touched the sword wound on his waist. The bleeding had already stopped.
The injury would still affect his strength, but Zhang Jianqiao had likewise taken a palm strike from him, so they remained about even.
Just then, Kong Fu abruptly turned and charged toward Huang Xiao.
Zhang Jianqiao reacted immediately, roaring, "You dare?"
Zhang Jianqiao had not expected Kong Fu to set his sights on Huang Xiao, but how could he possibly let him succeed right under his nose?
He slashed fiercely with the Precious Sword in his hand. A razor-sharp streak of Sword Qi shot toward Kong Fu's back with a piercing whistle.
"To hell with the Evil Water Region's secrets. I'll kill this brat first!" Kong Fu said with a cold sneer.
As he spoke, Kong Fu shifted slightly to one side while gathering the vast majority of his True Qi behind him. He intended to use his protective True Qi to take Kong Fu's Sword Qi head-on.
Kong Fu had now changed his mind. He knew full well that however long he fought Zhang Jianqiao, neither could defeat the other anytime soon.
Even if a victor emerged, both would end up badly wounded.
Too much could change in the meantime. If someone intervened, never mind capturing Huang Xiao-the two of them might not even survive.
Thus, Kong Fu no longer cared about the Evil Water Region's secrets. He would kill Huang Xiao first.
