As Demon Phoenix thought of its parents, deep within another part of Mist Mountain, two figures walked and stopped, seemingly searching for something.
"Could this be the right direction?" Female Phoenix asked.
They were Demon Phoenix's parents.
"I don't know. The legends passed down are already ancient, and the records are so vague that pinpointing the exact location is far too difficult." Male Phoenix shook his head and sighed.
After looking around, Female Phoenix said with some concern, "We've lost too much essence blood, and our strength has suffered greatly. Even here, we're in considerable danger. If we still can't find it, I'm afraid we shouldn't venture any deeper."
Male Phoenix pondered for a moment before saying, "All right, then. Let's spend one more day heading deeper. If we still haven't found it, we'll turn back."
"I'm starting to doubt whether this holy land even exists," Female Phoenix said doubtfully.
"It should," Male Phoenix said.
"It's been so long. Even if it existed before, who can guarantee it still does?" Female Phoenix said. "Besides, we sounded Huo Lian out indirectly, but we didn't get any useful information from him. According to him, the Divine Beast Holy Land hasn't revealed itself at all in the past ten thousand years. At most, it's been mentioned in some records. Perhaps it really does exist only in the records now."
This time, Male Phoenix said nothing.
In truth, he had his doubts as well. After all these years, he had never heard of anyone finding it, or of any Divine Beast emerging from the holy land.
But this was their last hope, and they still clung to a sliver of hope that they might get lucky.
Escaping Huo Lian's control was simply beyond the two of them alone.
Their lives were nearing their end.
