History

Solitary Life and Failed Nirvana

Demon Phoenix grows up alone, without knowing his parents or encountering another Divine Beast for nearly a thousand years. Like other divine beasts threatened by human hunters, he lives in seclusion, but Jianghu experts eventually discover and pursue him 1536.

After severe injuries and a failed Phoenix Nirvana, he survives as a Phoenix Egg. Huo Lian saves the egg and gives it to Huang Xiao, who successfully hatches it. Its connection with the Minghong Saber accompanies a drastic change from crimson to black plumage 1307 1526.

He abandons the name Red Phoenix after Huang Xiao points out that it no longer suits him. Rejecting “Black Phoenix” as too ordinary, he adopts “Demon Phoenix” for the faint Demonic Qi in his aura and the name’s resemblance to “Demon Emperor” 1325.

Traveling with Huang Xiao

Initially, Demon Phoenix stays with Huang Xiao because the Minghong Saber can help restore his strength. He warns that he will not readily intervene in Huang Xiao’s troubles, but increasingly acts as an adviser, drawing on his experience and inherited memories. He proposes defeating Chao Jue as a way to attract the Heavenly Demon Hall’s interest 1327 1328 1329.

Reunion with His Parents

His parents’ sudden arrival initially sends him into hiding. Although he senses their blood relationship, he resents their absence and demands an explanation before accepting them 1916 1917.

He learns that Imperial Remnant Manor captured them and handed them to the Demon Hall. They endured nearly a thousand years of imprisonment and essence-blood extraction. His parents later enter the sealed Divine Beast Holy Land. Demon Phoenix worries that their remaining lifespans will expire before they can leave. He eventually reunites with them there and learns that a Phoenix Clan elder has stabilized their injuries enough to extend their lives 2108 2687 2698.

Supreme Treasures and Further Cultivation

In the Evil Water Region, Demon Phoenix secretly takes the Supreme Evil Crystal while four Entering Dao Realm experts fight nearby. He hides it in the box supplied by Huang Xiao and waits out a returning searcher before escaping 2080.

He later spends years nurturing Different Flames from Supreme Treasures, producing extraordinary growth in his cultivation and firepower. After returning to work with Huang Xiao, he helps develop a method for increasing Huang Xiao’s Heart Fire beyond its previous limit 2549 2619 2620.

Sacrifice Against Kui Yong

Demon Phoenix returns to Huang Xiao’s side rather than flee from Kui Yong. His parents sacrifice themselves to transfer their merged flames and strength to him, but even this increase is insufficient to turn the battle 2934.
