The figure charging toward him from ahead also stopped.
"You?" Once they saw each other clearly, both spoke in unison.
"Tsk, tsk, Huang lad, to think your strength has improved so much in just a few months. You truly live up to being the Demon Hall's Hall Master Candidate. Even this old man is green with envy." Chao Hun looked Huang Xiao up and down and found that he was now extremely powerful, far beyond what someone his age could attain.
"Why are you here?" Huang Xiao asked, suppressing his unease.
Chao Hun was a dangerous man. He had tried to kill Huang Xiao before, but Huang Xiao had fortunately escaped.
"If you can be here, why can't this old man?" Chao Hun sneered. "I saw you with Senior Huo just now. Why are you alone now?"
Chao Hun had intended to call Huo Lian by name, but he could not yet be sure whether Huo Lian was nearby, so he dared not be too insolent.
"He's right behind me. He'll be here shortly," Huang Xiao said without betraying anything.
Chao Hun stared at Huang Xiao without speaking for a moment, weighing how much of his words he could believe.
The two faced each other in silence, the atmosphere somewhat strange.
After a good while, Chao Hun suddenly burst out laughing. "Thinking about how much your strength has grown has made this old man curious. I wonder just how much you've improved. Since we've run into each other, this old man would like to test your strength. What do you say, Huang Xiao?"
Huang Xiao's heart sank. Sure enough, Chao Hun had ill intentions.
Test my strength?
He means to take my life.
"My strength still can't compare with yours. There's no need, is there?" Huang Xiao said.
"It's fine.
