The Heavenly Demon Dragon Roar was similar to the Netherworld Demon Eight Tones. The Netherworld Demon Eight Tones comprised eight tones, while the Heavenly Demon Dragon Roar comprised eight roars, each corresponding to and echoing its counterpart.
Huang Xiao discovered that the moment he combined his Heavenly Demon True Qi with the flute music, he felt tremendous pressure. When he had simply played the tune earlier, he had encountered no difficulty at all; everything had flowed smoothly.
Now, however, Huang Xiao found every breath he exhaled extraordinarily constrained. After sounding one note, he was already struggling to catch his breath for the next.
"Woo-" A note cracked, and Huang Xiao stopped playing.
His chest heaved violently, and faint traces of sweat even appeared on his forehead. That brief performance had rapidly consumed a tenth of the Heavenly Demon True Qi within him. The expenditure of true qi was not the main issue, however. Huang Xiao discovered that the drain on his mind had been even greater, leaving him slightly fatigued already. It was almost inconceivable.
"I could only hold out until the Second Verse!" Huang Xiao gave a bitter smile. Despite putting forth all his strength, he had only managed to play the Heavenly Demon Dragon Roar as far as the Second Verse. Upon reaching the Third Verse, he had completely run out of breath and failed.
"It seems the flute must still be the problem. After all, a xiao is the most suitable instrument for the Heavenly Demon Dragon Roar," Huang Xiao murmured.
He therefore took the xiao at his waist into his hand and tucked the transverse flute into his belt.
Huang Xiao had never played a xiao before, but mastery of one thing opened the way to a hundred others. After experimenting briefly, he grasped its essentials.
