Although Ran Chou had been unwilling to come to Thousand Demon Gorge, learning that Huang Xiao and the others had been saved by its experts had raised considerable doubts in his mind.
As commander of the Heavenly Demon Guard, he naturally knew Xiao Yan's identity, and therefore knew that asking experts from the Thousand Demons Sect to help would have been easy for her.
But saving them was one thing. This was the site of the Thousand Demons Sect's Main Altar, where outsiders were forbidden to enter. Even the sect's experts probably could not break that rule.
Of course, Xiao Yan had no such authority either. Who else, then, could disregard those rules? A name sprang into his mind: Ling Tianya, Sect Master of the Thousand Demons Sect.
"Hmm?" Ran Chou suddenly turned to look to one side.
Lü Yiran turned as well and saw an old man strolling out of the gorge.
Before he could even blink, the old man stood before them.
"I never expected the commander of the Heavenly Demon Guard to visit Thousand Demon Gorge in person. Forgive me for not coming out to welcome you," Ling Tianya said with a hearty laugh.
"Withdraw for now." Ran Chou waved a hand at Lü Yiran beside him.
Lü Yiran could tell that this expert was the man who had transmitted his voice to him earlier. His commander clearly had something to discuss with the expert, so he naturally did not dare remain.
"I hope you will forgive my unannounced visit, Sect Master Ling," Ran Chou said, cupping his hands.
"What brings you here, Commander Ran?" Ling Tianya asked.
Ran Chou glanced at Ling Tianya before saying, "I believe you should know why I have come, Sect Master Ling."
"Oh, you are here for that disciple of yours.
