As Han Shuo and Emily headed toward Dark Curtain with Belinda, the fly-sized insects that had been circling inside the inn trailed far behind them.
The Demon-Slaying Edge flashed, pierced an insect with its sharp tip, and brought it into Han Shuo's palm. Only after bringing it closer for a careful look did Han Shuo discover that this fly-sized insect resembled the Puppet Beast Belinda had released. Both had been forged from iron armor; one was simply enormous and the other tiny.
Circulating Demonic Essence through his palm, Han Shuo pinched his thumb and forefinger together. With a crisp crack, the insect was crushed. Han Shuo narrowed his eyes and discovered that the crushed insect's abdomen actually contained an extremely miniature Magic Array, with barely perceptible Magic Elements inside.
"This Calamity Church really does have some remarkable tricks. They can actually fit a Magic Array that supplies Magic Elements inside such a tiny insect Puppet Beast!" Han Shuo could not help remarking as he put away the insect-shaped Puppet Beast.
Emily nodded, thoroughly agreeing with Han Shuo, and said with lingering apprehension, "The Calamity Church is the most evil church of all. They possess all kinds of evil magic and secret arts. Just look at the might and strength that Puppet Beast shaped like an Evil God displayed today. If they could manufacture them in large numbers, our Empire's cavalry wouldn't have the slightest chance of resisting a charge by these Ironclad Puppet Beasts."
True to her upbringing in Dark Curtain, Emily thought first of the nation's safety rather than what benefits such Puppet Beasts could bring her personally.
"I'll deal with these insect-like Puppet Beasts first, so they don't follow us all the way to Dark Curtain's base. It would be bad if someone discovered our whereabouts." Han Shuo
