Before long, Ye Feng returned with his purchases. He spread a soft, thick mat across the floor of the room, then laid several blankets over it, making it wonderfully soft and plush.
Ye Feng motioned for Garurumon to try it. She cautiously pressed a paw onto it, and her paw sank straight in. Garurumon seemed to love the feeling. She jumped right onto it, bouncing around and rolling over now and then.
Ye Feng chuckled at the sight and thought:
Even though she's grown so big, she still loves playing like a little kid. This is nice, too.
But while Ye Feng was thinking, a voice appeared in his mind:
"Heehee, Master, I can hear everything you're saying."
Ye Feng immediately knew it was Garurumon speaking. Shocked, he hurriedly said:
"You can even hear that? Doesn't that mean you've been eavesdropping on all my secrets?"
"If you don't want me to hear, Master, just close off your mind. Then I won't be able to hear you."
"How do you know that? And how do I close it off?"
"I don't know how I know, either. These memories seem to have been engraved directly into my mind. As for how to close it off, I'm not sure. You could try it yourself, Master."
Hearing this, Ye Feng began to think. Since this voice can appear in my mind, there must be something in there that can transmit sound. I'd better find it.
With that thought, Ye Feng began searching through his mind. Sure enough, he discovered something unusual at its base.
It was the Huaxia character "契," meaning "contract." This was probably the spirit beast Contract between Ye Feng and Garurumon.
