Giving Uchiha Fugaku a few pointers

After school, Ye Feng saw a member of the Uchiha Clan already waiting at the entrance. Inuzuka Clan Fengyu and Kurenai Yuhi saw this and guessed some of what was going on. They tactfully left with the others.

The Uchiha clansman stepped forward and bowed slightly.

"Hello, Uchiha Yefeng. I'm Uchiha Fugaku."

Ye Feng was a little surprised. He had guessed that someone from the Uchiha Clan would approach him, but he had not expected it to be the Uchiha Young Clan Head.

"Do you have time to talk?"

"Sure. How about going up to Hokage Rock? There aren't many people there, and the view is nice."

In the two months and more since Ye Feng had arrived in this world, he had mostly trained at home or around the village. He only visited the village's shopping district when he needed something, so this would be his first trip to Hokage Rock.

When the two reached Hokage Rock, Ye Feng looked down over all of Konoha, surrounded by woodland. With his eyesight, he could clearly see the merchants hawking their wares below, children playing together, friends and relatives chatting, and some ninja training outdoors. It was harmonious and peaceful. None of this would have seemed special to Ye Feng in his previous life, but in the chaotic Shinobi World, Konoha's peace was truly precious.

Uchiha Fugaku watched Ye Feng gaze at the scene below with a faint smile, then spoke.

"Yefeng, you seem to like the village's scenery."

"More than the scenery, I like this peace and stability."

"Oh? You really are someone who loves peace, Yefeng. Then how do you see the Family and the village?"

"Individuals form families, families form clans, and clans form villages. A clan is only part of a village." Ye Feng knew what Uchiha Fugaku was asking, but did not particularly want to answer.

"What if there's a conflict between the Family and the village? The Uchiha Clan, for example." Uchiha Fugaku did not know whether Ye Feng was playing dumb, so he got straight to the point.

"Then try to resolve the conflict. If you can't resolve the conflict, deal with the people creating it."

"Deal with the people creating it? Do you mean Konoha High Command, Yefeng?" Uchiha asked after pondering for a while.

Ye Feng shook his head without answering Uchiha Fugaku's question, but inwardly, he was deeply disappointed. The future head of a clan lacked a broader perspective. No wonder he would lead the Uchiha Clan to annihilation.

Seeing that Ye Feng said nothing more, Uchiha Fugaku realized that he might not have understood and set aside his doubts. By now, he no longer regarded Ye Feng as an ignorant child.

"I've come on behalf of the Family this time, mainly because the Family learned that you've changed considerably lately and wants to ask why." Uchiha Fugaku did not want to beat around the bush either.

"What if I don't want to say?" Ye Feng asked, looking Uchiha Fugaku in the eyes.

"It's all right if you don't want to say. The Family won't force you."

"After I learned that my parents had died, I had some terrifying dreams. When I woke up, I couldn't remember what I'd dreamed, no matter how hard I tried. Then I awakened the Sharingan, and afterward, my body gradually started growing stronger too." With that, Ye Feng activated his Sharingan, which already had one tomoe.

Ever since Ye Feng had attracted attention from various parties at the Ninja Academy, he had known that he needed a reason to explain his changes, or these people would not let the matter rest. This was a good opportunity to tell Uchiha Fugaku. Such a vague excuse could not be verified, and coupled with the Sharingan, it left them little choice but to believe him.

"The Family places great importance on talented individuals. We can provide you with some supplies for your training and assign you a residence in the center of the clan grounds. Originally, the Family was going to arrange for an Elite Jonin to guide your training, but since you've become a follower of Lord Orochimaru, I imagine that wouldn't interest you anymore."

"I'm quite satisfied with where I live now and don't want to move. As for the supplies the Family offers, I'll gladly accept them. There's no need for anything else. I know what the Family means. Rest assured, I'm a member of the Uchiha Clan too, and I won't help the Hokage Faction suppress the Family. But I won't offend the Hokage Faction for the Family either. If things truly reach a critical point, I'll find a way to preserve a branch of the Uchiha Clan."

Ye Feng had his own thoughts about the Uchiha Clan and the village. He now belonged to the Uchiha Clan and did not want to watch it be annihilated. If things spiraled out of control, he would step in to save some of its members. As for those who refused to listen, he would leave them to fend for themselves.

"Yefeng, you don't seem optimistic about the Family's future."

"For the village to develop healthily, it needs a strong, disciplined Uchiha, not one that could threaten it at any moment. A Family without anyone at Kage Level that still talks wildly about overthrowing Konoha will only bring about its own destruction." Ye Feng did not mind giving Uchiha Fugaku a few pointers, lest something unexpected happen and the Uchiha Clan be wiped out prematurely, before he had grown strong.

"As for the supplies I need, I'll make a list. Send someone to pick it up tomorrow." With that, he paid Uchiha Fugaku no further attention and ran toward the place where Might Duy and the others trained.

As Uchiha Fugaku watched Uchiha Yefeng leave, his heart was far from calm, and Ye Feng's words had left a deep impression on him. He then returned to the Family and reported the course of their conversation to Uchiha Tianchang.

"Uchiha Yefeng truly is extraordinary. Both his talent and his perspective are unparalleled. From now on, we must treat him as an equal. As for the supplies he wants, meet his requests as far as we can. If there are any we can't meet, come tell me, and I'll find a way to fulfill them as best I can. Perhaps he will become an opportunity for the Uchiha Clan, an opportunity to restore it to its former glory."

Uchiha Fugaku had not expected his father to hold Uchiha Yefeng in such high regard. Now, as he recalled Uchiha Yefeng's figure, he too found him increasingly mysterious.
