When Ye Feng entered the Ancient Kingdom of Roran, he was surprised to discover that it was completely different from outside the city.
Outside, yellow sand filled the sky, and dunes collapsed from time to time. Here, however, the breeze was gentle and the sun was bright. Towers rose everywhere, bearing something of the Western architectural style from his previous life. Most importantly, there were plenty of trees and green plants here.
If Ye Feng had not confirmed it several times with the people of Rōran beside him, he would have thought he had come to the wrong place.
This looked nothing like a place that could exist in the Land of Wind.
The elderly couple seemed to notice Ye Feng's surprise and said with a smile:
"Are you wondering why it's so different from outside? This city was built through the previous queen's efforts, sparing us from the wind and sand. Sadly, she died far too young."
When the elderly couple spoke of the previous queen, their eyes held reverence and admiration, as well as sorrow over her passing.
Although Ye Feng was not from Rōran, he admired the previous queen too. To have built such a magnificent city as a woman was indeed worthy of admiration and respect.
Afterward, the elderly couple took Ye Feng home and even prepared dinner for him.
Although the meal was only average to Ye Feng, it was quite precious food to ordinary people in the Land of Wind. After all, the Land of Wind had very little arable land, and grain was in even shorter supply, with most of it imported.
Ye Feng could not turn down the elderly couple's kindness, so he ate some, though not much. He knew how precious food was.
