Miroku finally realized what was happening. Ye Feng had not been fleeing from Moryo; instead, he had been keeping Moryo suppressed. But her arrival had upset that balance, giving Moryo leverage against Ye Feng.
Moryo chuckled sinisterly.
"I hold the bargaining chip now. You're in no position to negotiate. At worst, I'll die with the Miko. But I'm immortal, and I'll return eventually. She only has one life! Hahahaha!"
Ye Feng fell silent at those words. He knew this was the worst possible outcome. Although he could resurrect the dead, Miroku did not belong to this world, and he did not know whether the Rinnegan would work on her. He dared not gamble.
Looking at the silent Ye Feng, Miroku could see his struggle. She did not want to become his burden, much less let him lose his life because of her.
At that thought, a glint of resolve appeared in Miroku's eyes.
Suddenly, brilliant light blazed from her entire body, its intensity drawing both Ye Feng's and Moryo's attention.
An ominous feeling rose in Ye Feng at the sight. Moryo grew somewhat panicked as well and shouted harshly:
"Miroku, what are you trying to do? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
Miroku ignored Moryo, turning a tender gaze toward Ye Feng, her eyes filled with attachment and reluctance to part.
Ye Feng seemed to realize something. His expression changed drastically, and he shouted:
"Don't!"
But Miroku had already made up her mind. She turned and seized Moryo's armor, her face set with resolve.
"Disappear from this world with me!"
"You've gone mad! Let go! I'll let you both leave. Hurry up and let go!"
Moryo had lost all his earlier smugness. All he could think about was getting away from this madwoman. He did not want to die.
