Konan and Sasori both lit up with delight when they saw the barrier of light fade. Without it blocking their way, the people inside were nothing to fear.
Seeing this, Kushina handed Little Naruto to Miroku again and stepped forward, her eyes grave as she watched the Third Kazekage, Sasori, and Konan.
Although she knew full well that she was no match for them, she could only do her best. At the very least, she had to hold out until Ye Feng returned.
Konan, meanwhile, did not want to drag things out any longer either. The longer this took, the worse it would be for Nagato.
Konan said:
"You handle Kushina. I'll take the Nine-Tails!"
Sasori nodded at her words and immediately sent the Third Kazekage flying forward.
Konan also dissolved into countless sheets of paper and flew toward Kushina's rear.
Seeing this, Kushina immediately abandoned Sasori and ran into the path of the flying paper.
But that very move left all of Kushina's weak points exposed.
The Third Kazekage immediately opened his mechanical mouth, firing countless iron needles from within.
If Kushina continued trying to stop Konan, the countless iron needles would surely pierce her from behind. But if she stopped, Miroku and the other women would be exposed before Konan, at her mercy.
Caught in this dilemma, Kushina ran resolutely toward the countless sheets of paper without a second thought, completely ignoring the countless iron needles behind her.
As the iron needles drew closer, Sasori could almost see the coming spray of blood.
But in the next instant, Sasori's expression changed. As though striking an invisible wall, the countless iron needles burst apart into powder.
The sudden change made everyone stop, and even Konan returned from her paper form.
Then a voice rang out:
"You think you can
