Kakashi Hatate completely ignored Obito's words.
Obito tried to catch him off guard and pull down his mask, only for Kakashi to punch him in the face, knocking him off his stool and onto the floor.
"Kakashi, you've gone too far! I challenge you to a duel!"
Kakashi still said nothing and paid Obito no attention.
I pulled Obito aside and whispered to him:
"Don't rush. He'll have to take his mask off to eat his noodles in a minute. How else would he eat them?"
Realization dawned on Obito.
Before long, all their noodles arrived. The three said, "Let's eat," together, and then Obito and Ye Feng kept staring at Kakashi.
Kakashi gripped his mask with his left hand and picked up some ramen with his right. Just as they were about to see his true face, Obito and Ye Feng stared unblinkingly, holding their breath.
Without realizing it, Obito accidentally dipped his fingers into his bowl. He immediately cried out in pain and kept blowing on his scalded, reddened fingers to cool them down.
The commotion also caught Ye Feng's attention, and he instinctively looked down. By the time he collected himself and looked up again, Kakashi had emptied his bowl and put his mask back on. What kind of ridiculous speed was that?!
Obito had also just recovered. Looking at Kakashi's empty bowl, he too was stunned by how fast Kakashi ate.
Having finished his meal, Kakashi said goodbye and left, leaving only Ye Feng and Obito staring at each other.
The two of them also started wolfing down their noodles, wanting to see whether they could match Kakashi's eating speed...
But they gave up almost as soon as they started. Neither could come close to that speed. After finishing their meals, Obito and Ye Feng went home.
Once they got home, Obito made the excuse that his grandmother was home alone and he was worried she would be scared, then promptly slipped away.
Ye Feng knew what he was like and did not call him out. It was better that he left; Ye Feng would not have to worry about anyone interrupting his training. He was going to turn into a training maniac, then emerge from the starter village as a powerhouse.
For the next half month, Obito came over early to greet Ye Feng, then used all sorts of excuses about having things to do to dodge training. Ye Feng was happy to have the peace and quiet. He could feel his body growing stronger every day, which kept him highly motivated.
But after training without moving for half a month straight, Ye Feng felt that his body had grown a little stiff.
"It's about time I moved around. I wonder how far my body has developed."
With that thought, Ye Feng left home and headed for the training grounds.
He was unfamiliar with his current abilities and only felt that he was very powerful. If he caused some earth-shattering spectacle, it would be hard to clean up the mess. Ye Feng did not want to attract the villagers' attention, especially with the Darkness of Konoha-Shimura Danzō-still around. Who knew what would happen if Danzo set his sights on him? His own strength was not enough yet, while Shimura Danzō still had no limits to what he would do. Until Ye Feng had the ability to protect himself, he needed to keep a low profile and build up his strength, not get reckless.
Over the past half month, Ye Feng's mental power had also grown considerably. Although he still could not project it outward, he could already sense whether there were any larger living creatures within fifty meters. This would let him avoid some watchers and prevent anyone from spying on him. Of course, if he encountered sensory abilities like those of the Hyuga Clan, there would be nothing he could do.
Ye Feng carefully avoided the crowds, keeping his perception stretched to its limit the whole time. Only when he reckoned that even the nearest person was over a hundred meters away did he stop and begin warming up to get familiar with his body.
First came strength. Ye Feng found a tree thirty centimeters in diameter and over four meters tall, wrapped his arms around its trunk, and lifted. At first, the tree did not budge, but as Ye Feng exerted more force, it was uprooted little by little. Then he spun around and hurled it away.
That strength was definitely enough to lift over five hundred kilograms, making him stronger than the strongmen of his previous life.
Next came speed. Ye Feng gauged the distance between two trees at about thirty meters, then sprinted from one toward the other. In just two seconds, he reached the other tree. Converted to a hundred-meter time, that speed worked out to only around seven seconds.
Finally, he tested his striking power. A single punch broke a tree half a meter thick in two at the trunk. Ye Feng was astonished by his own physical strength. With striking power like that, who among the genin could withstand him? Chunin might be able to block it with some ninjutsu.
But how old was Ye Feng? At four, he could already compare to some chunin. A surge of bold confidence rose within him, and he cried inwardly, Who else~~~!
