With their strength severely diminished, the Uchiha Clan was already in a precarious position. Fortunately, they were smart enough to draw closer to the Third Hokage; otherwise, there was no telling how they might disappear from Konoha.
Although the Uchiha Clan was willing to protect Uchiha Yefeng, if they reached the point where they could barely protect themselves, Ye Feng's safety would depend on Orochimaru alone.
