After taking a random dinosaur carcass out of his cowhide backpack, Lin Feng took out his machete and cut up the meat. He did not want anyone to know he had entered the Jurassic Floor.
Besides, the listing on the trading exchange would not specify what kind of meat it was, only label it as meat.
So Lin Feng casually cut off a small piece as a deposit for the other man, sending over some wood as well.
Ye Hua: [Raw meat?]
Lin Feng: [Yeah, crocodile meat. Find a way to cook it yourself.]
Ye Hua: [Uh... all right. Better than nothing.]
Ye Hua looked at the raw meat the other man had sent and rubbed his stomach.
He had not eaten all day. He had to find a way to start a fire before entering the floor.
There was still half an hour until midnight.
Meanwhile, Lin Feng also received a system notification.
Beep. The floor the host is about to enter is the Game Floor. Three other survivors will participate in the game alongside the host. The game is hide-and-seek. Survivors will be the hiders and can transform into random objects. The floor's native inhabitants will be the hunters, responsible for finding the hiders. Anyone found by a hunter will die immediately. Completing the game grants the following rewards: two bottles of nutrient solution, one gold coin, and 100 kilograms of any elevator upgrade resource (excluding gold coins). Beep. Host reminder: the seekers will enter the floor and begin searching after one minute. During this time, the host may choose any place to hide, but the other side has only a 10% chance of looking up.
"Got it. You're telling me to hide somewhere high, right?"
Lin Feng smiled. This system really was pretty helpful. He just did not know whether the hiders could kill the hunters. Since they would turn into objects, though, presumably they could not deal damage.
Besides, the system had given no notification about that, so Lin Feng, as a hider, probably could not hurt the hunters.
What really mattered most was the other survivors. There were actually three besides Lin Feng.
Lin Feng had to be careful. If those survivors deliberately exposed his location, there would really be nothing he could do. And if someone died during the game, their belongings would go to someone else. In other words, weren't the other three people's belongings actually this floor's biggest reward?
[Ding-dong! Elevator descending. Please hold on tight!]
The announcement sounded, and the elevator began descending rapidly. Once it stopped, Lin Feng took a deep breath and walked in.
This floor looked like an abandoned circus, and there were indeed plenty of places to hide.
Lin Feng also found the high spot he wanted: the platform the circus used for tightrope walking.
However, only that one platform remained now.
Not far into the floor, Lin Feng spotted the other three survivors.
The three survivors had come from different directions, and their gazes turned vicious when they saw the others.
Clearly, those remarks in the chat room had had quite an impact.
The four did not speak after meeting. They were still very wary of one another...
Just then, a voice identical to the elevator announcement suddenly rang out.
[The game begins! The hunters will enter in one minute. Hide for the next ten minutes.]
The sudden voice surprised the other three. After all, they had always searched for supplies on the floors themselves before, and had never encountered anything like this.
"What the fuck?"
Just then, someone who had turned into a cardboard box shouted in disbelief.
Then Lin Feng also turned into an object. However, his object was rather conspicuous. A fucking streetlight, could you believe it?
A streetlight in a circus would look completely out of place no matter how you looked at it!
Of the remaining two, one turned into a large iron gate and the other into a trash can. Both were more normal than Lin Feng's.
"What are we supposed to do next?"
Seeing that the other three had also turned into objects, the person who had become a cardboard box asked curiously.
"Could it be hide-and-seek?"
The large iron gate asked curiously. Their current situation did look a lot like the hide-and-seek mode in a game he often played.
"The announcement just said to hide, so it should be hide-and-seek. Hurry up and hide!"
Only thirty seconds remained before the hunters entered. Unlike the others, Lin Feng was not standing stupidly in place, unsure what to do. He had already run up onto the platform. To hell with everything else. Trusting the system could not go wrong.
After turning into a streetlight, Lin Feng had actually wanted to return to the elevator, but he discovered he could not enter it in his streetlight form. It seemed he could only wait ten minutes for the result.
"Isn't this a little too fucking obvious?"
Fortunately, Lin Feng could control the streetlight's switch. Otherwise, he really would have been doomed.
He was now standing on a platform dozens of meters high, while the others were searching for places that suited the objects they had become.
Just then, the hunters entered. Two fully armed, burly men walked onto the floor from somewhere.
Lin Feng's pupils instantly contracted at the sight of the shotguns in the two hunters' hands.
Getting hit by those things would definitely hurt, wouldn't it??
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
After entering, the hunters began attacking every furnishing in the circus without a word.
Lin Feng was shocked at the sight. Unlike in the game, was there no penalty when the hunters made a mistake?
Then how the hell were those who had turned into objects supposed to play?
Just then, a scream rang out, and the iron gate, which was as large as Lin Feng, was killed.
The hunters were visibly delighted after finding a hider.
One of the hunters casually tossed the cigarette butt from his mouth into the nearby trash can.
Fuck, seriously!
The survivor who had become a trash can looked at the cigarette butt that had landed in his hair and could only pray that it would go out quickly.
However, his wish did not come true. Several minutes later, not only had the cigarette butt failed to go out, it had even singed his hair.
Although his scalp hurt as if needles were stabbing it, he gritted his teeth and endured.
The corpse of the man who had become the large iron gate lay right in front of him as a warning.
If he accidentally exposed himself, he would probably become a corpse too.
A few more minutes passed, and the two hunters circled back.
When he saw black smoke rising from the trash can, the hunter who had thrown away his cigarette butt sneered.
"Little mouse, so this is where you are."
Still forcing himself to endure, how could the trash can not realize he had been discovered? But moving now would mean certain death. If he stayed still, he might yet survive.
Bang!
However, the goddess of luck did not favor him. After the gunshot, the trash can disguise vanished, and a corpse appeared where it had stood.
There was now one minute left until the end.
