The dim void was like a mire, seemingly changing, yet seemingly never having changed at all.
Wang Ba silently appeared outside Soulfall Marsh and surveyed the dark void before him.
The changes wrought by his previous clash with the Northern Great Bodhisattva here were no longer visible at all. With his current cultivation realm, even without entering, he could roughly sense the many living creatures hidden within Soulfall Marsh.
Even so, his expression remained calm as he strolled inside.
Whimpering illusory sounds pierced straight into his Primordial Spirit, seemingly intent on throwing his Divine Soul into turmoil.
As he entered, the hidden creatures within Soulfall Marsh seemed to catch his scent as well. As though the entire marsh had awakened, they silently converged on his location.

Wang Ba paid them no heed. With a flicker, he easily passed the creatures hidden in the void. A few more flashes brought him silently before the enormous World Embryo concealed within Soulfall Marsh.
He tilted his head slightly to look up.
The World Embryo was indescribably vast. It pulsed faintly, seemingly breathing in the surrounding Primal Chaos Source Substance.
As though the being within the World Embryo had never ambushed the Northern Great Bodhisattva, all around was peaceful and quiet. Even the World Embryo seemed unaware, pulsing its fetal membrane as usual.
Yet the faint murderous intent concealed within was already drawing closer...
