Background / History

Liu Erlong founded Blue Tyrant Academy. During a period when she had no news of Yu Xiaogang, she spent her days waiting for him and eventually accepted a marriage alliance with Ning Xuan, reasoning that marrying anyone other than Xiaogang would be much the same 19.

Ning Xuan had asked his father, Ning Fengzhi, to arrange the engagement. Both families treated the alliance seriously, and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect supplied valuable betrothal gifts, including an Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid delivered directly to Liu Erlong 1 20.

Yu Xiaogang’s arrival at Blue Tyrant Academy with Shrek Academy renewed her romantic hopes. She retained the academy’s name and her title as dean, but handed its actual administration to Flender and his associates 5 19.

Appearance

• Described as an alluringly beautiful woman with a voluptuous figure 18.

Personality

Liu Erlong is fiery, proud, and confrontational. She challenges Yu Yuanzhen’s treatment of her marriage as a financial arrangement, but also treats Ning Xuan’s decision to end the engagement as a personal insult. Although she does not love Ning Xuan, she initially refuses to accept his right to leave her and demands compensation if the marriage is cancelled 5 19.

Her devotion to Yu Xiaogang shapes her judgment. She praises his theoretical talent while disparaging Ning Xuan for his cultivation stagnation, despite both men facing Martial Soul limitations. She also defends her relationship with Xiaogang against Tang Yuehua’s objections to their blood relationship 5 6.

When confronted over Sunset Forest, she repeatedly insists that she did nothing wrong. She first dismisses Ning Xuan’s evidence as fabrication, then admits its authenticity after the recording is played. Nevertheless, she can question Xiaogang’s theories when faced with contradictory evidence, telling him that Ning Xuan’s Soul Rings do not conform to his published limits 23 24 27 28.

• Xiao Wu — A student she likes, though she has not adopted her as a goddaughter in this timeline. She deduces Xiao Wu’s likely death after learning her identity and recalling Ning Xuan’s hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring 27.
• Tang Hao — Rescues her during the pursuit and returns her to her clan after her sea of consciousness is shattered 31 37 38 42.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Sunset Forest and the Broken Engagement

Liu Erlong persuades Ning Xuan to let her accompany Yu Xiaogang and several students into Sunset Forest, promising to say goodbye to her past before marrying him. Ning Xuan leaves a Mirror Image recording on her and witnesses her intimate encounter with Xiaogang inside a tent 1.

After Ning Xuan demands an end to their engagement, she denies wrongdoing and insults his stalled cultivation. Her reactions provide some of the first Emotional Value collected by his newly awakened system 2.

At Blue Tyrant Academy, she tells Xiaogang that she wants to preserve the marriage as cover for their relationship and gives him the Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid. Tang Yuehua overhears them and unsuccessfully urges her to reconsider 5 6.

Exposure Before the Clan

Summoned home, Liu Erlong presents the dispute as unreasonable jealousy over her duties as dean. She refuses to apologize and maintains that she merely protected Xiaogang and the students during their hunt 19.

Ning Xuan subsequently projects the Sunset Forest recording before Yu Yuanzhen. Liu Erlong offers to accept the breakup and return the gifts if he stops, then claims the recording is false. She finally admits that what the clan saw and heard was true 23 24.

Yu Yuanzhen punches and slaps her unconscious; Chen Xin intervenes before he can kill her. The clan agrees to cancel the engagement, but Liu Erlong refuses to disclose the herb’s whereabouts and secretly leaves for Heaven Dou City 24 25.

Escape and Yu Xiaogang’s Death

Reunited with Xiaogang, Liu Erlong proposes fleeing somewhere unknown rather than returning the herb. They leave Flender behind and plan to spread news of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s Immortal Herb to distract their pursuers 27 28.

She attacks a rider following their carriage, but Ning Xuan intervenes and traps her inside the Golden Exquisite Pagoda. He kills Xiaogang and retrieves the orchid. Tang Hao’s arrival prevents Ning Xuan from killing her as well 29 30 31 34.

Destruction of Her Sea of Consciousness

After waking under Tang Hao’s protection, Liu Erlong blames Ning Xuan’s pursuit on the Immortal Herb and asks to return to her clan. A light then strikes her forehead 37 38.

Ning Xuan reveals that his modified Mirror Image can carry spiritual power and attack its host’s spiritual sea when their mental defenses relax. Tang Hao returns Liu Erlong to the clan and reports that her sea of consciousness has been shattered, with recovery expected to take years 38 42.

Clan Massacre and Death

Gu Rong spares Liu Erlong during his destruction of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Returning survivors later find her blood-covered and mentally incapacitated beside Yu Luomian’s corpse, unable to explain what happened 64 70.

Tang Xiao subsequently kills her while recovering Tang Hao’s body and orders his men to conceal the Clear Sky Sect’s involvement 84.
