"How disappointing." Patrick's mocking voice rang out. "This is what you were counting on? How utterly pathetic."
Patrick had originally wanted to let Illidan, Kael'thas, Tirion Fordring, and the others show what they could do. But when they reached the Frozen Throne, he found that the Lich King had nothing left but these empty bluffs. It really was rather disappointing.
Back at the Gates of Terror: Korialstrasz, the Lich King had taught them all a lesson. In tactics, strategy, and manipulation, Ner'zhul was among the best. All the Scourge troops the Northern Expeditionary Force had overlooked appeared during the battle of Koresa. Through his actions, the Lich King had taught everyone from Azeroth a lesson.
But understanding fate was easy; defying it was hard. The Lich King had huddled inside Icecrown Citadel, and these Frost Wyrms and Gargoyles were probably his last remaining assets. It was not really fair to blame him for being incapable. All of Icecrown Glacier had been breached, and the aerial routes had been blockaded. Ner'zhul could only pull back his defensive lines, gather his forces, and launch one final, desperate counterattack.
Unfortunately, would Patrick give him that chance?
"You can rest easy. This trash won't interfere with you anymore." Patrick abruptly opened his eyes, and a blue barrier took shape in an instant. Outside, the icy dragon breath struck the barrier, instantly turned into shards of ice, and fell. The barrier's energy fluctuations did not even change. "Frost Wyrms of this caliber... they're like toys."
In an instant, the situation reversed once again. Now the commanders of the Northern Expeditionary Force faced the Lich King together.
"Come forth, my servants." The Lich King struck first, beginning to summon Blood Zombies and Ghouls. The undead horde tactic had always worked this way: all the cannon fodder
