The two Warhawks became two charred roast chickens and fell to the ground, their wings flapping. Divine power surged over Akil'zon's body, once again forming several Warhawks that circled overhead.
"Tear his flesh from him, my beloved eagles," Akil'zon ordered again.
The Warhawks in the sky dove at Patrick together. The Eagle God was clearly furious. Lightning energy still clung to the Warhawks, plainly enhanced by divine power.
Patrick couldn't help smiling. Though the Warhawks contained some divine power, they were ultimately only enhanced ordinary eagles. Spatial Vector Casting locked on for the spell, then molten Pyroblasts formed and flew out, blasting the approaching Warhawks head-on. This time, scarcely any scraps remained of the incoming Warhawks; they were reduced to ash.
The Rangers who had just escaped the thunderstorm charged back into the chaotic battlefield. Many Rangers were already stained red with blood, and some of their daggers had accumulated so much Troll blood that they were too slippery to grip. After a bout of close combat, both the Rangers and the Troll soldiers were blood-mad.
Meanwhile, the several mages accompanying the army held nothing back either, unleashing large-scale area spells without restraint. Only then did they hold off the Troll troops' frontal assault.
"We can't drag this out any longer. We need to end this quickly."
Vast amounts of arcane energy began gathering in Patrick's hands, instantly dispersing the surrounding green Hex mist. He intended to challenge Akil'zon directly to a magical duel.
Sensing the energy fluctuations in Patrick's hands, Akil'zon likewise began gathering the Power of the Eagle. Azure lightning energy gathered as well.
The two locked their gazes on each other at the same moment, shooting the energy gathered in their hands straight at their opponent. This was a duel between spellcasters, a contest of their mastery
