Krasus had taken the form of a High Elf. Looking at the dragon eggs that had stopped hatching, he still found it somewhat unbelievable. "Why have these dragon eggs stopped hatching?"
"Haven't you noticed? After I activated the spatial barrier, their growth gradually stopped." Patrick casually pointed at an egg. "They can absorb energy from outside to promote their own growth. With enough energy to absorb, Twilight Dragons need only a few short months, or even weeks, to grow from hatchlings into adults."
"If we want to save them, we have to temporarily stop these eggs from growing, then gradually strip away the dark energy."
"Stopping them from absorbing outside energy would be difficult." Krasus fell into thought. Of course, it was not actually difficult. As a member of Dalaran's leadership and an expert in magic, Krasus naturally knew how to construct a restrictive barrier.
But there were far too many dragon eggs in the entire Five Dragon Temple. Almost all the eggs of every dragonflight were kept here. If they could not preserve these eggs, the dragonflights would have no new members for a very long time, and that situation might last hundreds or even thousands of years.
That would be a terrifying state of affairs. The dragon population was already small, and Azeroth suffered wars year after year. If their numbers kept dwindling with every battle, the dragonflights would truly need to withdraw from the world entirely for several thousand years to recover.
As Patrick and Krasus talked, a slit was torn through Patrick's spatial barrier. Malygos, Illidan, Alexstrasza, and the others came in after finishing the battle outside.
"How could this happen?" Alexstrasza felt as though the world were spinning. She could not believe what she saw.
Wyrmrest Temple's most precious treasures were none other than the
