Looking at everyone's resolute gazes, Patrick explained some of his preparations, as well as the restrictions on resurrection.
"First, we must eliminate those who willingly aspire to join the Scourge. If we don't, even if we resurrect them, they will serve death again. You've done very well on this point."
"Second, I need a volunteer, someone willing to be the first person I use the resurrection spell on. I've never actually used this complex spell on you before. I need to make some adjustments to ensure that everyone afterward can be reborn intact."
"Third, this spell has considerable limitations. It isn't resurrection in the true sense of the word. It doesn't work on incorporeal undead; I can't recreate flesh for ghosts. It doesn't work on those who died of old age, either. Even if I resurrect someone like that, he will immediately die because his body has already reached the end of its natural lifespan. It doesn't work on constructs, such as Abominations."
"All right..." Patrick slowly sat down. "Now decide for yourselves who goes first."
It took tremendous courage to volunteer to be treated as a test subject by others. Judging from the recent lives of those present, although they were already undead, they still treasured their current lives. None of them wanted to rest forever in the true sense. If revenge had been their only purpose, they had not been seen resting in peace after Ner'zhul's death, either.
Fearing death was instinctive for intelligent beings. Death held too many unknowns, and more importantly, once someone died, everything they had possessed in life would become someone else's wealth.
"Let me go first." Once again, Darion was the first to step forward. "The Lich King is dead, and my father has found release. I have nothing else to ask for..."
