Though it was completely dark, from the Players' point of view, it had only grown a shade dimmer.

They could still see people and things just fine.

After waiting a little longer, someone finally appeared.

Xuan Zi wore a black hood and a cloak, dressed just like an Evil Soul Master, and blocked the Players' path.

Not only that, he deliberately changed his voice, afraid someone would recognize him.

"Hand over the Soul Bones you're carrying and all the secrets you've been hiding, and I'll let you off."

As he spoke, Xuan Zi released all nine of his Soul Rings.

Two yellow, two purple, four black, and one red. It was certainly intimidating.

But when the Players saw him, they weren't afraid in the slightest. They even started making fun of him over the team voice chat.

Wang Zhongwang: "He really did dress like an Evil Soul Master. That confirms he's the Holy Spirit Cult's Grand Elder."

Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior: "He looks so practiced at this. He must have done this plenty of times before."

Spirit Hall Eternal: "Hard to say. Someone like him has no character to speak of."

I Am an Angel: "Should we just call out who he is and see how he reacts?"

Qian Xixi: "Good idea. He must think his disguise is perfect and no one will recognize him."

Ten-Year Veteran: "Let's talk it over first. Do we blow him up right away, or chat with him a little longer?"

Primordial One: "That sounds pretty good, too. But I think if we call out who he is, he'll decide to kill us for sure."

Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior: "Why would we need to feel guilty about blowing him up? Even if we blew up all of Shrek Academy, I wouldn't feel guilty in the slightest. Though it'd be best if we got experience points for it."

Seeing that the Players weren't afraid of him and weren't reacting, Xuan Zi grew somewhat annoyed.
