Lu Ren passed through the gate of light and arrived outside Yellow Springs Forbidden City.
Before him stretched a desolate expanse, bleak to the bone.
Broken walls and ruined foundations lay all around. The ground was pitted and uneven, with neither living creatures nor plants in sight. A light breeze blew, carrying a bone-chilling cold.
"So this is the Immortal Battlefield?"
Lu Ren flew close to the ground, surveying his surroundings. Everywhere he looked, the earth bore scars of battle.
He kept flying forward until barren mountains appeared in the distance, along with ruined cities.
Yellow Springs Forbidden Zone had once been Demon Immortal Clan territory, and they had built many large cities here.
Now every one of those cities lay abandoned.

Suddenly, Lu Ren's Chaos Eyes flashed. He spotted three figures flying toward him from afar. All looked middle-aged, and each radiated an immortal aura. They were three Immortal-Below-Immortal cultivators.
The three—two men and one woman—seemed to spot him as well. They landed before Lu Ren and blocked his path.

The woman in the middle wore pale golden armor and carried three steel spears on her back. She cut a valiant figure, but surprise crossed her face when she saw Lu Ren.
"Young brother, which immortal sect are you from? You came to the Immortal Battlefield at the Master Realm? A Master can scarcely take a single step here!"
The woman smiled as she spoke.
"I'm a Supreme Being's Successor. My master saw that my cultivation had stagnated, so he ordered me to come to the Immortal Battlefield and seek an opportunity!"
