Background / History

According to Xiao Man, the pagoda was built by countless ancient gods over hundreds of thousands of years to resist a great tribulation in which heaven and earth collapsed and the gods perished. It was lost after that calamity, later reappearing several times and provoking wars among gods for possession of it. 599

The Reincarnation Divine Ancestor later identifies its builder as Ye Chuang, who gathered divine-artifact refiners to construct it. Ye Chuang placed a strand of Reincarnation Qi within the pagoda, enabling its master to locate the Reincarnation Treasure Key and reach the Divine Ancestor's secret realm. 1642

The first three accessible levels were additions made by Ye Chuang and the artifact refiners to the damaged original artifact. The fourth level reached by Lu Ren is therefore described as the pagoda's “true first level,” an intrinsic portion of the artifact rather than one of Ye Chuang's later constructions. 2102

Lu Ren initially knows it only as the Nameless Treasure Pagoda. A mysterious man identifies it as the Reincarnation Ancient Pagoda and tells Lu Ren that its time-cultivation function is merely a fraction of its actual power. 586 Xiao Man later recognizes the name and explains its legendary history. 599
