"Since you didn't come to acknowledge this Demoness, why did you come to see me? Weren't you afraid I'd kill you?"
The Undying Demoness suddenly rose to her feet. The demonic saber in her hand came crashing down toward Lu Ren's head without the slightest mercy.
The Demon Saint Son's expression changed drastically. He instantly appeared in front of Lu Ren, a longsword in hand to block the attack.

The two weapons collided, producing a shocking tremor. The Demon Saint Son was sent flying, slamming into Lu Ren and knocking him backward as well. Lu Ren spat blood and crashed heavily onto the ground.
"Lu Ren, it seems Lord Ji didn't regard you as her son. Your concern for her is meaningless, and you'll only end up risking your life. Let's retreat first!"
As the Demon Saint Son spoke, he immediately grabbed Lu Ren and turned to leave.
The Undying Demoness looked at Lu Ren's back, a strange glint flashing through her eyes.
"Demon Saint Son, why does the Undying Demoness have only a few hundred years left to live?"
Following behind the Demon Saint Son, Lu Ren couldn't help asking.
"The Undying Demoness slaughtered far too many lives and was cursed by the Immortal Dao. She has only a few hundred years left to live!"
The Demon Saint Son replied.
"What? She was cursed by the Immortal Dao because her slaughter was too great?"
Lu Ren was utterly shocked.
"Killing living beings goes against the Immortal Dao in the first place. Ordinary slaughter will eventually bring retribution through karma and reincarnation. But the Undying Demoness is too powerful. Karma and reincarnation couldn't bring retribution upon her, so she was cursed by the Immortal Dao instead!"
The Demon Saint Son replied.
"I see!"
Lu Ren nodded, looking somewhat enlightened.
