Lucian flew steadily beneath the clouds with his arm around Cate's waist. Cate buried her face in his chest, both hands clutching his clothes.
Lucian glanced down at the girl in his arms.
There was no way she could stay at Godolkin University anymore.
Today, in front of all those people, he had sliced those Supe students in half with his Heat Vision, then tortured Shetty into madness.
Whenever the students and administrators at the school saw Cate, even if they didn't dare say a damn thing to her face, they would definitely avoid her like the plague behind her back.
Subtle exclusion was more sickening than insults to the face. The way those Supe students looked at her had already changed, from their former awe to fear and wariness.
Avoiding contact, refusing to speak, treating someone as invisible-that was bullying too.
Cate was sensitive to begin with, and she had just suffered Shetty's devastating betrayal. Throwing her back into that environment alone would be forcing her down a dead end.
"Where do you want to go next?"
Cate slowly raised her head, her eyes full of uncertainty.
She had once thought that as long as she behaved and wore those gloves, she could graduate from Godolkin University without trouble and prove to her parents that she wasn't a monster.
Now, that dream lay shattered.
"I don't know." Cate tightened her grip on Lucian's clothes. "I just want to be with you. Anywhere is fine."
Feeling the strength of her grip, Lucian tightened his arm around her waist a little.
Lucian looked toward the skyline ahead. "As it happens, I need to visit Russia next. I'll probably stay a while. Think of it as me taking you away to clear your head."
He would go to Russia to make trouble
