At Anyo's suggestion, the retreating Konoha Ninja army abandoned its previous temporary base and withdrew again and again, pulling all the way back from the border between the two sides.
After getting everyone settled, Fugaku and Anyo rested in a room.
Anyo spoke first. "I didn't expect you to agree to my proposal so readily."
"How strong is the Raikage? Does he have any weaknesses?" Fugaku looked grave and was in poor spirits. The successive major battles had placed a tremendous strain on his body.
"Strong." Recalling their recent battle, Anyo added, "Very strong. He can completely overwhelm me in close combat, and ranged attacks don't work on him. As for weaknesses... sigh."
Hearing Anyo speak so highly of the Raikage, Fugaku frowned. "If neither taijutsu nor ninjutsu works on him, what about genjutsu?"
The Uchiha Clan's Sharingan was exceptionally adept at genjutsu. In a head-on confrontation, a single illusion could often give them every advantage.
Anyo shook his head. "His body has already developed combat instincts. Even if he fell under genjutsu, he could probably sense danger and hostility and counterattack on his own. It won't work."
White Fang had once been able to do the same, and the Raikage was the second person Anyo had encountered who could do it. He was far too troublesome. A close-range assassin facing a warrior with high defense and high attack was completely countered. If a full combo failed to kill the opponent, all that remained was a one-sided beating. After this battle, it would no longer be realistic to trap him with the Bringer-of-Darkness Technique for so long.
"Then doesn't that mean there's nothing we can do?" A measure of despair crept into Fugaku's disappointed tone.
It was not entirely hopeless, actually. If Anyo disregarded his own life and activated Susanoo
