Kurenai Yuhi wiped away her tears and looked at Anyo plaintively. "What are you thinking about? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Anyo took off his mask and lifted the hand he was holding. "Let me heal you first."
As green chakra glowed, the cuts on Kurenai Yuhi's hand quickly healed, leaving it as good as new.
For the first time, Anyo took a careful look at Kurenai Yuhi's face. She was a little girl who made anyone who saw her want to hold her close and cherish her. Small, cherry-blossom lips, red eyes as clear as crystal, and a delicate little nose formed an innocent, adorable face.
Kurenai Yuhi grew a little shy under Anyo's gaze. A blush spread across her cheeks, adding to her charm.
A faint smile appeared on Anyo's face as he held her gently. "Kurenai, I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing?" Kurenai Yuhi hugged Anyo tightly even as she asked in confusion.
"Maybe Asuma was right. I really don't deserve..."
"Don't say that." Kurenai Yuhi cut him off. "I know how we feel about each other. I don't need outsiders telling us what to do. No one gets to do that. You're the one I've chosen."
Such deep affection had always been hard to let down. Anyo sighed. "Then what if you find out I'm a terrible person someday?"
Kurenai Yuhi thought for a moment. "That depends on how bad you are."
"The really bad kind."
"How bad is that?"
"Silly girl."
"Do you like silly girls?"
"What man doesn't like a silly girl?" Anyo felt that the conversation had already gone off track. After answering without thinking, he sucked in a sharp breath. "Hiss! You actually bit me."
Kurenai Yuhi smiled triumphantly. "That's a mark. If you turn bad someday, I'll bite you to death."
