Inside the Laboratory, Anyo finally used up the last test subject. Aside from a rueful smile, only bewilderment remained in his eyes.
Some time had passed since he last taught Yugao swordsmanship. Anyo had devoted himself almost entirely to the Wood Release Experiment, but unfortunately, he had gained very little. Hashirama cells were harder to handle than he had imagined.
Counting on Danzo to capture test subjects was out of the question. After thinking it over at length on his own, Anyo's eyes lit up as he came up with a plan.
In the Hokage Office, Anyo placed two bottles, one red and one blue, before Minato. Then he casually picked up the red bottle and said, "These are the Antidote Pills I developed recently. After taking them, ninja can stay in Death Poison Valley for four to six hours without being harmed by the poison mist inside."
"As for this blue bottle, you can apply it to your body. It has a very strong, pungent smell, and those poisonous creatures won't attack you of their own accord."
Minato smiled in pleasant surprise. "These two medicines couldn't have come at a better time. Can they be mass-produced?"
Anyo shook his head. "The raw materials are very expensive, so mass production is out of the question. All I can say is that there'll be enough for Konoha."
After pondering for a moment, Minato asked, "Do you have a way to completely eliminate the toxins in Death Poison Valley?"
"It can't be done. Once the poison mist spreads into the air, it affects far too wide an area. Besides, even if we could do it, we mustn't." Anyo said meaningfully, "If Konoha really did it, the other villages wouldn't thank us. They'd come demanding answers instead."
Minato understood and could only nod
