The sound of Kakuzu landing was like a thunderclap, instantly jolting Samui out of her daze behind Anyo.
She instinctively drew her short sword and stepped in front of Anyo, watching the newcomer warily.
His action made Anyo pause, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly.
Samui immediately realized what she had done, and a blush flashed across her cool face.
What am I doing? I've really started treating myself as his secretary. I'm not Mabui, Samui thought, an intense struggle playing out in her mind.
Anyo walked over to Samui with interest, smiling as he said, "Relax, he's one of us. Use the flying device I gave you to head to the Land of Hot Water first. I'll be there shortly."
Samui silently put away her short sword and gave Anyo a complicated look. Without another word, she activated the flying device on her back with icy composure, rose into the air, and flew away.
With the outsider gone, Kakuzu walked over with a gloomy expression and asked, "My vault was robbed. Was it you?"
