In Amegakure, after Konan buried Yahiko and Nagato, she faced the boundless sea, unsure what to do for a time. Only when Haku placed a hand on her shoulder and comforted her with a smile did Konan come back to herself.
Suddenly, Konan's expression shifted slightly. She said to Haku, "Sister Haku, I'd like to be alone for a while. Is that all right?"
Haku nodded. "All right."
Once Haku's figure disappeared from view, Konan's expression turned cold. She addressed a spot in empty space. "Come out."
After a ripple of spatial distortion, Obito appeared before Konan.
Not at all surprised by his appearance, Konan asked softly, "Looking for something?"
"Yes. Where did you put Nagato's body?"
"The Rinnegan?" Konan gave a soft laugh. "Teacher once told me that Nagato's Rinnegan didn't belong to him, and obtaining them was the beginning of his tragedy. So what makes you think those eyes would still be in Nagato's body?"
Although he had already anticipated this, Obito still sighed. "It seems I guessed right. I want to ask you something."
"Go ahead."
"Why did such outstanding members as you betray me? You and Nagato originally both approved of my Eye of the Moon Plan. Even failure would have been understandable, but Nagato died using Rinne Rebirth. Unless he did it willingly, no one in this world could have forced him, and that should have been used on me." His single eye darkened as Obito spoke. "Or do you think that Naruto Uzumaki is worth that much?"
"Naruto? He is light. That's why everyone can believe in him so deeply. Unfortunately, wherever there is light, there is darkness." Konan looked at Obito and smiled scornfully. "Compared with Teacher's, what does your darkness amount to? He let the Akatsuki grow all along, all to resurrect
