The three of them ate around a small table, a scene that looked very warm and cozy. Kurenai Yuhi kept stealing glances at Anyo, and whatever she was thinking about brought a faint, silly smile to her face.

Before long, the meal ended in a harmonious atmosphere. Kurenai Yuhi took the initiative to clear the dishes and chopsticks, then busied herself cleaning the kitchen.

Shinku asked Anyo, "I heard from Lord Hokage that you joined the Anbu."

Anyo nodded. "Yes."

Shinku said in puzzlement, "Why did you choose to join the Anbu? As White Fang's student, you should know how dangerous Anbu missions are."

Anyo did not answer directly. "We're at war now. As long as you're a ninja, you'll face danger."

"It seems you've grown quite a bit lately," Shinku remarked. "When do you leave for your next mission?"

"In three days."

"Stay at my house for those three days. I'll teach you some more genjutsu."

Anyo looked at Shinku in surprise and thanked him sincerely. "Thank you."

A hint of a smile suddenly appeared on Shinku's stern face. "Since you've joined the Anbu, you're my subordinate now. There's no need for formalities. How much you can learn will depend on your ability."

"So you're..." Anyo suddenly understood Shinku's position in Konoha. No wonder he had served as acting commander when the Third Hokage was away from the village.

Returning to Shinku's study, Anyo discovered that Shinku had already organized a section of it, dividing the books there into several categories. They were clearly subjects he had not studied before. It seemed Shinku had intended to teach him all along, and this stirred a feeling of gratitude in Anyo's heart.

Soon, the two began researching and studying genjutsu. Having finished cleaning the kitchen, Kurenai Yuhi quietly approached the doorway.
