Seven or eight of the Wudang disciples gradually learned it next, while only three to five members of the Caiying Army managed to do so. Most still understood it poorly. Naturally, Wang Chong would not patiently teach them any further. Instead, he had Jiang Wenyue and the Wudang disciples who had learned the saber technique pass it on, freeing himself up.
The next morning, as they prepared to depart, Wang Chong noticed that quite a few Wudang disciples had become familiar with the female officers of the Caiying Army, chatting and laughing, growing close and intimate.
Watching this scene, Wen Chan'er thought to herself, Wen Zhengchun really handles people's hearts as easily as slicing vegetables and splitting melons, as smoothly as drifting clouds and flowing water, utterly at ease.
These female officers of my Caiying Army have all had hard lives. They lost either their fathers and brothers or their husbands, leaving each of them lonely and helpless. Though they are strong in everyday life, they often show their vulnerability when no one is watching. And after following me, learning martial arts, and earning military merit, their standards have risen. They refuse to marry ordinary men. But these Wudang disciples all come from exceptional backgrounds and have bright futures. Never mind becoming their lawful wives-even becoming their concubines would be a fortunate lot.
Given Wudang's standing, those seeking admission were either extraordinarily gifted or from illustrious families. Some Wudang disciples were dragons and phoenixes among men even without considering their martial arts.
Wang Chong had no intention of playing matchmaker. He had simply wanted to slack off and done it in passing. He had no idea that, in the future, thanks to the Caiying Army
