Hearing Radeus's strange cry, Rudeus and the others jumped out of the carriage and came over to the stone monument.
The monument was grayish white all over and stood over a meter tall, its surface covered in writing in the Fighting God Language.
"Geese, didn't you say this thing only had crests? What's with these names and titles in plain sight?"
Radeus slowly turned his head and stared blankly at Geese.
The fifth entry clearly read: Fifth of the Seven Great Powers-[Azure Death God], Radeus Greyrat!
Geese was dumbfounded too. He stepped forward and examined it carefully, his face almost pressed against the stone.
"That's not right. The monument never used to look like this!"
He rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Who the hell could have expected a perfectly normal monument to suddenly change so drastically?
Besides the monument changing and the addition of the great powers' names and titles, there was something else strange about it.
The inscriptions were clearly in the Fighting God Language, an ancient script that few people on the entire continent could read.
Yet for some reason, everyone present only had to glance at it for the meaning of those words to naturally appear in their minds, with no trouble reading them at all.
