The instant he saw the full details of the ability, the delight on Solomon's face froze, and he silently cursed.
There was actually a three-hundred-meter range limit!
His perfect original plan had fallen apart completely. He had intended to keep his original body hidden somewhere absolutely safe and send duplicates out to take risks, growing stronger without taking any damage himself.
But the three-hundred-meter limit left him no room to maneuver.
With his level 3 Super Speed, he could cross three hundred meters in a second. This restriction was truly obnoxious.
Solomon sighed and thought back to the original plot. It did seem that the original body had always stayed near the duplicates, never going too far away.
Aside from gaining Self-Duplication, none of his other attributes had increased at all.
The only pleasant surprise was that the panel had unlocked a new energy attribute.
Solomon immediately understood. Duplication and elemental abilities all relied on energy to function, and the duplicates' range and maximum number were most likely tied to his energy level.
As long as he raised his energy level later, he should be able to unlock a greater range and more duplicates.
Solomon slowly walked out of the RV. At that moment, the four duplicates who had sensed their original body being attacked underwent a drastic change in expression. They cursed and sprinted toward the RV at full speed.
Firecracker, farther away, also noticed something was wrong. Looking flustered, she hesitated briefly before hurrying after them, but deliberately kept a safe distance from the duplicates the entire time, exercising extreme caution.
The four duplicates rushed into the RV, but they could not see the invisible Solomon at all.
Solomon stepped aside to avoid them, his gaze locking onto Firecracker, who stood alone in the distance.
Even a mosquito had a bit of meat. However useless the ability, it was better than nothing.
Firecracker should be a little stronger than the duplicating man, right?
His figure flickered as Supersonic Speed activated instantly. A second later, he was behind Firecracker, chopping down cleanly with the edge of his hand.
With a thud, Firecracker collapsed, knocked out cold.
"Ding. Superhuman defeated: Misty. Ability acquired: Spark."
Name: Solomon Strength: Level 1.3 Energy: Level 1.01 Defense: Level 2.03 Hearing: Level 1.3 Vision: Level 1 Speed: Level 3 Abilities: Carbon-Fiber Super Skin, Super Speed, Bone Spikes, Self-Duplication, Spark Spark: Rubbing the fingers together produces tiny sparks of open flame.
Solomon lingered no longer. Activating Super Speed, he returned to his hotel room in an instant.
Standing in the room, he did not put on his clothes immediately, instead testing his newly acquired ability.
He lightly rubbed his thumb and middle finger together. A crisp snap rang out, and a tiny flicker of open flame flashed at his fingertips. The faint light vanished immediately, exactly like the spark from an ordinary lighter.
Wow, what a trash superpower!
Firecracker's superpower should have been a boob facial instead!
His energy had only risen by 0.01 levels, one-tenth of what an ordinary superhuman provided. Fortunately, his strength, hearing, and defense had increased too.
An excellent combination immediately occurred to Solomon. If this ability were paired with Lamplighter's superpower, it might have some other uses.
Lamplighter had once been a member of The Seven. His superpower allowed him to control flames-only control them, not create them.
This little spark should count as a flame, right? With Lamplighter's superpower, this spark would actually be useful. Even a flame this small could be controlled and expanded without limit, turned into towering flames and a highly destructive elemental attack.
After briefly trying out the lackluster Spark ability, he shifted his focus to his new extraordinary ability, Self-Duplication.
Solomon calmed himself and concentrated, giving a slight mental command.
There were no exaggerated bursts of light and shadow, nor any bloody horror of flesh tearing apart, only a strange physiological transformation so quiet it made one's skin crawl.
His original body first stiffened slightly. The contours of the muscles along his neck, shoulders, and back writhed and bulged faintly, and a thin layer of ripples spread across his skin, like water stirred by an invisible force.
Then the skin and flesh along the back and sides of his body slowly began to separate into layers.
They did not tear open into wounds. Instead, as though being released from a mold, the outline of an entire body slowly bulged outward, shifted aside, and pulled away.
The back, limbs, and waist separated in succession, two completely overlapping human figures slowly splitting into independent bodies.
Where the flesh remained attached, it stretched into a thin layer of translucent tissue, which rapidly healed and smoothed over a moment later. The original body's skin was as smooth as before, without a single mark or scar.
In just one second, a duplicate completely identical to the original in appearance, build, expression, and bearing had fully formed.
The newborn duplicate swayed slightly. His eyes instantly went from blank and bewildered to alert, and his limbs hung naturally at his sides, perfectly reproducing the original body's posture and consciousness.
The original body remained standing where he was, no thinner and completely unharmed, with only a slightly fatigued expression.
The entire process was silent, swift, strange, and efficient. There were no screams of agony, no flying flesh and blood, only a human figure quietly multiplying.
Solomon and his duplicate turned their heads at the same time to look at each other. The sensation was incredible!
He could see himself through the duplicate's eyes, and he could feel everything the duplicate felt.
The duplicate raised a hand and rubbed his fingertips together, instantly producing a spark; he turned his wrist, and sharp bone spikes pierced through his flesh, gleaming coldly.
Then he raised his hand and slashed his own skin hard with a bone spike. His tough carbon-fiber skin easily deflected it without suffering any damage.
Finally, with a thought, the duplicate's figure faded, seamlessly entering a state of optical invisibility.
He had reproduced every one of the original body's abilities without the slightest discrepancy!
Self-Duplication was a very powerful ability. The only downside was that he had to be naked; otherwise, his clothes would be torn apart.
"My second naked superpower! I'm heading farther and farther down the path of nudity!"
Solomon sighed helplessly, then split off a second duplicate. Only after ordering both duplicates to turn invisible and lie low did he calmly get dressed, cancel his own invisibility, and leave the hotel.
He raced to a deserted stretch of wilderness on the outskirts of the city and began a new training plan.
Within a three-hundred-meter radius, both duplicates activated Super Speed, repeatedly sprinting back and forth, turning, and braking at high speed to refine their feel for controlling it.
Soon, a gleam flashed in Solomon's eyes.
It worked!
And it worked extremely well!
The original body and the duplicates completely shared their consciousness, vision, memories, and experience.
All the duplicates' training, adjustments, accumulated feel, and insights were fed into the original body's mind in real time. It was equivalent to training on multiple tracks at once, directly doubling his efficiency.
The duplicates shared their vision and thoughts with the original body, and the results of their training were directly reflected in the original body's brain as well.
This meant he could not only use his duplicates to quickly improve his proficiency with his superpowers, but also study combat, tactics, and all sorts of skills at the same time.
In battles between superhumans, overwhelming attributes were certainly important, but refined fighting skills and tactical maneuvering were equally crucial.
Homelander, for instance, possessed top-tier attributes, but his fighting techniques were crude beyond belief. All he knew was how to crush opponents with brute force.
The moment he encountered an opponent with equal attributes, he would be utterly trounced.
He had been learning to fight before, but his progress had been relatively slow, and he had stopped training after acquiring superpowers.
It looked like it was time to start training again!
Solomon glanced at his two duplicates. Self-Duplication had another drawback: it could only split off people, but could not take the duplicates back in.
Every duplicate was an independent living individual, made of flesh and blood. They needed food, water, and rest, possessed a complete set of vital signs, and would leave an intact corpse if killed in battle, unable to simply vanish into thin air.
