Background and History

Arrival in *The Boys*

Solomon transmigrates into The Boys with knowledge of its original plot. Recognizing that he cannot safely hunt superhumans alone, he finds Hughie’s electronics store and becomes his coworker. He witnesses A-Train kill Robin, attends her funeral, and stays close to Hughie while waiting for Butcher to appear 1 2.

His immediate target is Translucent: Solomon knows the Boys will capture him and that defeating him is sufficient to obtain his powers. He prepares a high-voltage stun baton and waits in the store’s storeroom for the attack. By the time Frenchie meets him, Solomon has successfully taken Translucent down 1 2 5.

Joining and Taking Control of Vought

Homelander forcibly recruits Solomon as Translucent’s replacement after discovering his similar invisibility. Solomon persuades him that frequent public appearances would risk exposing the substitution, then uses his new position to pursue access to Vought’s superhuman resources 14 15.

He continues helping the Boys without committing to their campaign against Homelander. His suspiciously convenient interventions attract Butcher’s attention, while Homelander uses him to spy on Maeve. Homelander repeatedly inflicts fatal-looking injuries on him, including a pierced chest and decapitation, but Solomon survives through regeneration 34 35 55 60.

After reading Madelyn’s memories, Solomon obtains information on hidden laboratories, experimental sites, and Becca and Ryan’s location. Ashley later supplies the Harmony Castle lead and encrypted files on surviving Supes while withholding that lead from Homelander 71 112.

As Solomon’s strength overtakes Homelander’s, their relationship shifts from coercion to cooperation and dependence. Homelander warns him about Edgar’s attempt to obstruct his growth, and Solomon begins teaching him combat and helping him confront his origins. By Solomon’s later reunion with the Boys, they recognize him as Vought’s true ruler 122 140 142 284.

The Mutant World

Solomon arrives in another world in June 1962. After reading several criminals’ memories, he initially concludes that it may lack supernatural forces; he later encounters mutants and operates through Vought there 168 170 229.

He helps investigate Raven’s evolved ability to copy mutant powers and recruits Wolverine and Sabretooth after defeating them. He also accepts Charles’s request for assistance against Sebastian Shaw in exchange for a global broadcast 214 229 241.

Despite his growing strength, Solomon refuses to awaken Apocalypse after examining the sleeping mutant’s attributes. He instead leaves with plans to return stronger. His preparations include giving Stryker Compound V and implanting a directive to continue mutant experimentation and biological-weapons research 275.

Clark, the Gods, and New Krypton

On meeting Clark, Solomon fabricates a history in which he is another survivor of Krypton. He combines genuine knowledge from his previous life’s films with invented personal details, wins Clark’s trust, and is welcomed into Martha’s home 301 302.

Solomon teaches Clark to understand and control his powers, helps establish Vought in Metropolis, and confronts other powerful beings, including Arthur Curry, Calvin, and Diana. His relationship with the Kent family eventually becomes more than a useful cover: he spends a month living quietly on the farm and later acknowledges the warmth he feels toward Clark 303 322 323 327 346 355 427.

After Diana questions him with the Lasso of Truth, Solomon admits that he is an Earthling rather than a Kryptonian. He subsequently reveals his copying ability and existence as a traveler between worlds. Clark continues to trust him despite the deception 426 427.

Solomon acquires divine and demonic powers, gives Clark champion power, and later visits Themyscira with Diana. Before leaving the universe, he collects Nth metal and says farewell to his companions 402 432 434 435.

Ta Lo and the Avengers

Solomon obtains Shang-Chi and Xialing’s pendants, activates the Water Map, and memorizes the route into Ta Lo. He erases the Ten Rings group’s memories of the encounter before entering the bamboo maze, where Ying Nan and Ta Lo’s warriors confront him 450.

After further acquisitions, including powers copied from the Avengers, Solomon meets the Ancient One in the Mirror Dimension. She identifies him as an unforeseen presence who has changed the universe’s future, but acknowledges that his interventions have prevented its approaching catastrophe in most futures she can observe 454 469 470.

Appearance

  • Usual presentation: A dark-haired young man; villagers identify him as a Chinese stranger during his search for Arthur Curry 299 323.
  • Disguises: Uses shapeshifting extensively. Before joining The Seven, he adopts the appearance of a young, clean-cut white man 14.
  • Clothing: Wears a black coat when confronting Arthur and favors deep, understated colors 321 323.
  • Kryptonian battle suit: A close-fitting black nanomaterial suit with a silver “S” emblem, contrasting with Clark’s red-and-blue costume 321.

Personality

Solomon initially prioritizes survival, secrecy, and controlled growth. He approaches Hughie because his routine makes him accessible, avoids disrupting important plot events prematurely, and refuses to testify against Vought because doing so would expose him to retaliation. His early caution is strategic rather than an attachment to either the Boys or Vought 1 2 8.

He is calculating and willing to manipulate others for power. He provokes Supes into fights, constructs a false Kryptonian identity to approach Clark, and preserves Stryker’s interest in mutant experimentation for his own plans. He explicitly recognizes that he lacks Clark’s near-saintly kindness and prefers the freedom represented by his black suit 27 275 302 321.

Nevertheless, Solomon develops genuine attachments. He protects Starlight from Homelander, repeatedly assists Hughie’s companions, and hopes to resume ordinary friendship with them even after becoming Vought’s ruler. Their fear disappoints him, while Clark’s unreserved trust draws out a warmth that is initially unfamiliar to him 60 285 327 427.

His treatment of Homelander combines restraint, instruction, and firm boundaries. He helps resolve Homelander’s insecurities without routinely humiliating him in public, but responds decisively when Homelander again attempts to assert authority over him 123 140 142 287.

Abilities & Skills

Power and Attribute Copying

Solomon’s central cheat grants abilities and attribute gains by defeating superhumans; killing is not required 1 120.

  • Super Speed +4 combines with Level 4 speed for a stated maximum of Mach 50 146.
  • Super Speed +5 multiplies speed and control by six 163.
  • Super-Speed Time: Slows perceived external time by a factor of one hundred for one second 163.
  • Flight speed is linked to the Speed attribute 106.

Regeneration, Immortality, and Healing

Super-Speed Healing repairs severe damage to Solomon’s own body, while separate healing abilities treat others 19 163.

  • Its initial description requires more than thirty percent of his brain tissue to remain intact; worse injuries take longer to heal 19.
  • Survives Homelander breaking his neck and separating his head from his body 60.
  • Biological immortality and adaptability later help him survive injuries, poisoning, infection, and hostile conditions unless he is instantly annihilated 163.
  • His consolidated Healing ability initially handles ordinary internal and external wounds, but cannot replace missing limbs or organs in others 163.

Invisibility, Shapeshifting, and Duplication

These powers support infiltration, impersonation, and maintaining separate activities 35 37 81.

  • Carbon-Fiber Super Skin +1: Extends invisibility to objects within ten centimeters of his body 83.
  • Shapeshifting +3: Replicates people he has personally seen, including their voices and unique abilities 146.

  • Mind Suppression: Suppresses consciousness and forcibly controls a target’s body 132.
  • Mind Control: Immobilizes criminals and later erases memories from Wenwu’s group 168 450.
  • Telekinesis +2: Triples telekinetic strength and control; later upgrades reach +7 140 150.
  • Energy Vision: Assesses opponents’ attributes and energy reserves, including Apocalypse’s 275.
  • Echolocation: Maps surrounding rooms and tracks people and conversations without direct sight 28.

Energy and Elemental Manipulation

His offensive powers include Laser Eyes, Plasma Violet Lightning, fire, electricity, blood, and multiple elements 95 102 150 413.

  • Counters Homelander’s red beams with blue eye beams and later pierces his enhanced defenses with violet lightning 89 287.
  • Converts absorbed electricity into controllable light energy 78.
  • Blood Manipulation supports blood weapons, internal attacks, detection, wound repair, and flight 95.
  • Radiation Shockwave can forcibly remove Compound V from Supes 162.
  • Elemental Power controls earth, water, fire, and wind; Solomon recognizes its potential to rewrite matter through fundamental elements 413.

Spatial Movement and Intangibility

Teleportation, phasing, and spatial manipulation let Solomon bypass distance and physical barriers 72 119 470.

  • Teleportation distance increases with his energy attribute 72.
  • Phasing carries clothing and equipment and allows physical attacks and energy impacts to pass through him 119.
  • Uses intangibility to enter Apocalypse’s buried pyramid without opening a passage 275.
  • Folds space to enter the Mirror Dimension 470.
  • Travels between separate worlds through his cheat 427 435.

Divine, Magical, and Rule Power

Rule power operates beyond conventional physical attributes and can enhance the rules associated with Solomon’s existing abilities 354 373.

  • Acquires power associated with Egyptian gods, Greek gods, demon lords, and the Seven Deadly Sins 372 377 402.
  • Can convert initially unattributed rule power into an ability’s corresponding rule, such as flame 373.
  • Power of Myriad Phenomena and Elemental Power are described as embryonic rule powers 413.
  • Gains Chaos Magic from Calypso and Axis Power from Cassia 419.
  • Divine artifacts remain dangerous: Diana’s sword breaches his defenses, her shield blocks his Heat Vision, and the Lasso of Truth restrains him 355.
  • He later acknowledges that the Lasso of Truth can overpower even his rule power 426.

Combat and Planning

Solomon supplements copied powers with close-quarters skill, preparation, and knowledge of events from his previous life 1 140 142.

  • Exploits targets’ vulnerabilities and engineers favorable encounters, beginning with his planned ambush of Translucent 1 2.
  • Teaches Homelander hand-to-hand combat and initially dominates their restricted sparring match through dodges and targeted strikes 140.
  • Uses clones to practice precise control of enhanced strength and senses 112.
  • Recognizes when an opponent remains beyond him and postpones confrontation, as with Apocalypse 275.
