"You can continue following the path you've chosen. But I'll leave you a way out. If Shaw is defeated in the future and you have nowhere left to turn, you can come find me at Vought anytime."
"Consider those doses of Compound V you took today my gift to you all. They should give you a little more confidence in your ability to protect yourselves in a crisis, so you don't perish too soon."
As his words fell, the entire mental realm abruptly darkened.
Emma Frost's vision suddenly went black, and a dizzying sensation of the world spinning swept over her. The mental prison confining her instantly crumbled and dissipated.
The next second, her consciousness abruptly returned, taking control of the researcher's body once more.
The spacious, silent corridor was empty. Solomon, who had stood there moments earlier, had long since vanished without a trace, as though that heart-to-heart in the sealed conference room, that confrontation and recruitment offer in the mental world, had never happened.
Just as Emma Frost's thoughts churned, Solomon's calm voice suddenly sounded in her mind again.
"Oh, I almost forgot to remind you. After you inject Compound V, the gene fusion process will cause your superpowers to spiral violently out of control. I'd hate for such an exquisite work of art to be inexplicably damaged and lost."
Recently, Shaw had been frantically absorbing nuclear energy from the nuclear submarine and storing it in his body. If he injected Compound V and his superpowers went out of control during the fusion phase, all the nuclear energy stockpiled inside him would most likely run rampant and erupt out of him at once.
When that happened, a violent energy explosion would sweep in every direction, devastating all life throughout the area and instantly annihilating everyone present.
