"Mesmer, you have news on those two?!"

Mesmer took out his phone, unlocked it, and held it out in front of A-Train. On the screen was a clear photo of Frenchie.

"Is this him?"

A-Train gave it just one glance. His eyes instantly turned vicious, his tone certain.

"Yes! That's him! He has an accomplice, too! Tell me, where are they?!"

Because of the surveillance camera's angle, A-Train had only seen Frenchie's face, not Butcher's.

Mesmer put his phone away, keeping him in suspense.

"I have information on them, but I want Homelander! I'll only tell Homelander!"

A-Train's brows furrowed sharply. He impatiently took off his goggles, his tone carrying a hint of rebuke.

"What? Are you crazy? Just tell me. Isn't it the same if I pass it on to Homelander?"

Mesmer sighed, helplessness and pleading showing on his face as he spoke humbly.

"I want to get back into Vought. Only Homelander can help me. I have nothing now. Even my daughter doesn't recognize me anymore. I just want to change all this and become a superhero again! Please, A-Train, this is my only chance!"

Seeing how pitiful he looked, A-Train was slightly moved. In the end, he sighed and put his goggles back on.

"Okay! Fine, I'll tell Homelander and let you know afterward. Remember, your information had better be useful. Homelander isn't as good-tempered as I am. If you dare lie to him, you know the consequences."

With that, he pushed off the ground, his figure instantly becoming a blur that vanished at the end of the alley, leaving Mesmer standing alone as he shouted excitedly.

"Thank you! A-Train! Thank you for giving me a chance!"

Mesmer clenched his fists, his face filled with wild joy and anticipation. As long as he could get the information to Homelander, Homelander would surely take his contribution into account and let him return to Vought.

Then he could stand in the spotlight again, becoming that superhero who commanded everyone's attention, no longer having to live this unsettled life, ignored by everyone.

But before he could spend long lost in his beautiful fantasy, an icy figure suddenly appeared behind him. Before he could react, a powerful hand chopped hard into the back of his neck.

Mesmer's vision went black. Without so much as a grunt, he fell straight down, unconscious.

"Ding, defeated Supe Mesmer. Acquired ability: Memory Reading." Name: Solomon Strength: Level 2.02 Energy: Level 1.31 Spirit: Level 1 Defense: Level 2.09 Healing: Level 3.001 Hearing: Level 2.5 Vision: Level 1.1 Speed: Level 3.005 Abilities: Carbon-Fiber Super Skin, Super Speed, Bone Spikes, Self-Duplication, Sparks, Levitation, Shapeshifting, Ant-Man Transformation, Super-Speed Healing, Rainbow Fart, Hair Growth, Light Eyes, Echolocation, Memory Reading Memory Reading: Allows the reading of all of another person's memories and thoughts through direct physical contact.

This ability wasn't exactly strong, but it wasn't weak, either.

Being able to read all of someone's memories and real-time thoughts through direct physical contact was particularly useful for gathering intelligence.

But aside from that, Mesmer actually had no physical enhancements at all. His physique was exactly the same as an ordinary person's.

His strength hadn't increased, nor had his defense. Even his hearing hadn't improved in the slightest. His only gain was the addition of a Mental Attribute.

Still, this Mental Attribute was far from useless. It was directly linked to all mental skills.

It represented not only the strength of mental abilities, but also determined resistance to mental attacks.

Solomon knew full well that this world had quite a few Supes skilled in mental attacks, with abilities to read memories, rewrite memories, and control people, especially the current congresswoman, the Supe Head-Popper.

Her ability was to manipulate blood and blow people's heads apart.

All she had to do was look at someone, and their head would explode.

To resist this ability, one's physical defenses either had to be so overwhelmingly strong that she couldn't destroy the skull by manipulating blood.

Or one's spirit had to be strong enough to be immune to her mental control, preventing her from manipulating one's blood.

As for Homelander, although he had no clearly defined mental skills, his Mental Attribute definitely wasn't low. It was even very high. Otherwise, Vought would have long since found a Supe capable of controlling minds and brought this difficult-to-manage trump card firmly under its control.

Homelander's all-around abilities weren't nearly as simple as they appeared on the surface. His actual strength was probably far greater than anyone imagined.

He glanced at the unconscious Mesmer on the ground, then vanished from the alley in a flash.

Dozens of seconds later, he returned in clean clothes, unable to stop himself from complaining.

"Fuck, if only I had a spatial ability. I could carry clothes and a phone around without all this hassle."

He took out his phone, unlocked it, found Butcher's number, and dialed without hesitation.

The call was answered almost immediately, and Butcher's signature, slightly annoying voice came through the speaker.

"Oi, Shen, how come you've got time to call me? Have you finally found your conscience and decided to help us take on Vought?"

Solomon rolled his eyes and silently grumbled to himself. All day long, it's oi, oi, oi. Doesn't he get tired of it?

His tone was cold as he got straight to the point.

"Butcher, did you guys go to a Supe named Mesmer?"

Butcher's hearty laughter came from the other end.

"You really do keep an eye on us. You even know about that. Yeah, we asked him for a little help a while back. Why?"

Solomon looked down at Mesmer at his feet and reached into his pocket to take out his phone, his tone somewhat mocking.

"What do you think? I just saw this guy talking all secretively with A-Train here, and they even mentioned Frenchie. This guy was thanking A-Train with excitement all over his face. What do you think he would tell A-Train?"

The laughter on the other end instantly stopped, and Butcher's tone turned grim.

"What did you say? He was with A-Train?"

Solomon opened Mesmer's phone and found a video, his tone amused.

"Oh, oh, oh, look what I found on his phone. A little video, with all of you in it. You, Frenchie, Hughie, Mother's Milk, and that Supe. Your faces are all perfectly clear. Tsk, tsk, tsk. I really can't imagine what would happen to you if A-Train handed this video to Homelander. I've already sent you the location. Get over here, right now."

With that, before Butcher could ask anything else, Solomon hung up and slipped Mesmer's phone into his pocket.

He reached out, placed his hand on Mesmer, and began reading his memories.

This ability really was impressive. In his hands, all of Mesmer's memories were like a book he could freely flip through and examine.

But Solomon didn't notice that, from the moment the memory reading began, Mesmer, whose back was toward him, had kept his brows tightly knitted, a pained expression on his face.

Elsewhere, Butcher stared at the address on his phone screen. An icy, vicious gleam flashed in his eyes, and his fingers tightened slightly around the phone, his knuckles turning white.

Beside him, Frenchie, Mother's Milk, and Hughie felt their hearts lurch at his expression, their faces instantly growing tense.
