In an instant, the conference room fell deathly silent. Everyone was cowed by Homelander's vicious aura and instinctively sat up straight, not even daring to breathe loudly.
Maeve finally withdrew her gaze from Solomon and looked at Starlight, a flicker of hesitation passing through her eyes.
She was torn over whether to put in a word for Starlight.
Starlight trembled all over in terror, at a loss for what to do. She could only lower her hand stiffly and slowly, her fingertips still quivering.
Homelander was terrifying at that moment. His undisguised murderous intent sent chills down everyone's spine.
"Sit down!"
Homelander's voice rang out again, carrying an authority that brooked no argument.
Starlight's legs went weak, and she slowly sank back into her seat, gasping for breath. Cold sweat had already soaked her back, and her eyes were filled with fear and helplessness.
Seeing Starlight so obedient and compliant, Homelander let the glaring red light in his eyes slowly fade, and a meaningful smile gradually curled across his face.
"Ever since you joined The Seven, it's been one problem after another. If Madelyn had time today, The Deep probably wouldn't be here now either. Counting Translucent, who's already dead, The Seven is already down two people!"
He paused, his gaze slowly sweeping over everyone present as his tone grew colder.
"I'm very curious. Which one of us will disappear next?"
Every word Homelander spoke carried a threat, instantly striking a nerve with A-Train and convincing him completely that Starlight had been "colluding with the enemy."
He shot to his feet, glaring viciously at Starlight as he cursed through gritted teeth:
"You bitch!"
"I didn't! I didn't do anything!"
Starlight's eyes reddened with distress. She shook her head repeatedly in denial, her voice filled with hurt and helplessness.
