There, he received his register, learned Jiang Chi had betrayed Jiang Yunyao, rejected Jiang Chi’s scheme, and settled in to cultivate while avoiding an ambush outside town.

• Jiang Yan entered the Wolf Lord’s feast as a supposed gift, killed the Wolf Lord and his monsters, and escaped with spoils and the Stone Book.
• Jiang Yan returned to the Jiang estate, perfected his body in the clan’s stone chamber, and entered the Dao with spiritual Qi.
• Jiang Yan’s fortune at the Immortal Stele drew two cultivation methods, and he mastered the Guiding Method before preparing for the prefectural examination.
• Green Fox High Person tested the candidates, and Jiang Yan ranked among the top ten to qualify for the Prefecture Academy.
• Jiang Yan registered his Law Power, reunited with Jiang Chi, and received a ninth-rank White Register as an altar-guarding Dao attendant.

Jiang Yan mastered new cultivation methods, killed Li Shun and Xiao Sheng with curse effigies, and secured an apprenticeship with Blowing Fire High Person. After settling into the Fire-Breathing Lineage, he explored the Fire Vein and emerged with a Fire Vein Spirit to raise.

• Jiang Yan mastered the Ingestion Method, cultivated with metal pellets, and attended Daoist Caiyun’s lecture, where he bought the Sun and Moon Worship Technique.
• Jiang Yan refined the Golden Copper Darksteel Pill, tempered his body with Jinbao’s help, and condensed two more strands of Law Power.
• Jiang Yan learned the Straw Effigy Technique and used cursed effigies to kill Li Shun and Xiao Sheng after they attacked Xiao Li and Li Yunshu.
• Jiang Yan sold pills at the Market, contracted with Muling Daoist Boy, and met Blowing Fire High Person, who accepted him as a nominal disciple until he reached Eighth Grade.
• Jiang Yan moved into a new volcano residence, received attendants and supplies, and prepared to explore the Fire Vein with Dragonflame Daoist.
• Jiang Yan entered the Fire Vein, collected spirit materials and yellow clay, and took a Fire Vein Spirit from a cave after An Ling left.
• Flame Carp retrieved Jiang Yan from the Fire Vein, identified the sphere as one of his kind, and told Jiang Yan to bury it in yellow clay and choose its shape before it emerged.

Jiang Yan forged a bond with Yanbao, returned to East River Town, and gathered allies while preparing to confront Jiang Chi and Desire Corpse Daoist. After cultivating and refining pills with Yanbao’s Ash Calamity Fire, he learned Jiang Chi planned to leave town and agreed with An Ling to ambush him.

• Jiang Yan chose four techniques, created the winged fire spirit Yanbao, and named its combat-suited flame Ash Calamity Fire.
• Jiang Yan joined Spitting Fire Daoist’s squad to return to East River Town, visited Jiang Yunyao, and learned about the Furnace-Refining and Cauldron-Commanding Dao.
• Jiang Yan cleansed Gu-Eating Daoist Child’s demonic nature, and Skin Player and Gu-Eating offered to serve him.
• Jiang Yan enlisted An Ling to investigate Jiang Chi and Desire Corpse Daoist, then confronted Jiang Chi at the town entrance and retreated when Jiang Chi chose not to enter.
• Jiang Yan completed his sixth strand of Law Power and perfected Bronze Skin and Iron Bones while cultivating with Flame Carp’s scale.

Jiang Yan and An Ling infiltrated the Scale Clan during the Yearly Examination, where a trap led to a fight with the Desire Corpse and a devastating battle in Heavy Water City. As Jiang Yan faced the Desire Corpse, the Scale and Feather Clan ancestors summoned the Tree God into the East River Realm, leaving the realm under imminent threat.

• Jiang Yan killed Jiang Chi, advanced to the upper ninth-rank realm, and joined An Ling for the Yearly Examination.
• Jiang Yan and An Ling disguised themselves as Scale Clan nobles and entered Heavy Water City to investigate the Heavy Water Mine.
• Jiang Yan and An Ling recognized signs that their mission and others were being manipulated, while Xiao Li and Li Yunshu fled the Desire Corpse.
• At the mine, the Purple-Scale leader exposed Jiang Yan and An Ling, and Jiang Yan killed the Red-Purple patriarch and his clansmen as An Ling fought the Purple-Scale fighters.
• Jiang Yan and An Ling escaped through the mine, but the Desire Corpse pursued them, and An Ling fled separately while Jiang Yan rode Yanbao away.
• After Green Fox ordered Jiang Yan to draw the Desire Corpse out again, Jiang Yan lured him to a mountain and detonated his Thunderfire Pills.
• The Scale and Feather Clan ancestors sacrificed their essence blood to summon the Tree God, which tore through the realm’s membrane and spread its presence across the East River Realm.
