With the issue of strengthening his HERO Deck resolved, Yūki could finally sleep in peace.
At least, that was what he had originally thought.
On the first day of classes, the wake-up bell in Ra Yellow Building Three had barely rung for the second time when Bastion Misawa, already in uniform, stood beside the desk checking the timetable.
"First period, Fundamentals of Duel Tactics."
"Second period, Deck-Building Theory."
"This afternoon, Monster Ecology and Card Alchemy."
Bastion looked up.
"Yūki, you have seven minutes left."
A hand emerged from the blankets, accurately grabbed the alarm clock beside the bed, and stuffed it under the pillow.
"Seven minutes is plenty. Enough for Jaden to be late once and then get scolded by Professor Crowler for two minutes."
"But we're in the Ra Yellow Dormitory. We're farther from the classroom building than the Red Dormitory."
"Then borrow the time Jaden spends being late, too."
Watching the blankets fall still again, Bastion discovered for the first time that the time-management model he had built might not work on his roommate.
Five minutes later, Snowstorm Princess knelt beside Yūki's bed and pressed a small piece of ice to his forehead.
His eyes opened faster than if he had drawn Pot of Greed.
"I'm up. Getting up right now."
Little Red sat beside the pillow, holding the half-melted piece of ice and imitating Snowstorm Princess's nod.
"Wah."
Yūki felt that this team of spirits was refining its management system in a direction he did not want.
The Duel Tactics classroom was a size larger than an ordinary school's lecture hall.
Every desk had a built-in card-reading area. There was no blackboard at the front; three linked projection screens took its place.
Two disassembled Duel Disks also stood by the wall, used to explain card recognition
