Homelander's face darkened. Butcher always seemed to have such a foul mouth.

Although Soldier Boy's influence had made him immune to most profanity, that only applied when Soldier Boy was the one swearing at him.

Homelander took a deep breath and kept thinking about the tattoo he had left on Butcher's back, using his amusement to suppress his anger.

As he thought about it, another image flashed through his mind.

Butcher in a bar one day, getting carried away drinking and taking off his shirt... now that would be something to laugh at.

Homelander couldn't help chuckling.

The speed of that change left Butcher, who knew nothing of the reason, utterly baffled. He watched him warily.

Scowling one second, laughing the next. Had this psycho gone mad?

Homelander stopped smiling. "Butcher, I called you out here because I think it's time we settled things between us."

"Settled things?" Butcher's expression shifted. "What do you want to do?"

Homelander turned and pointed toward the Small Cabin where Becca was. "In there is Becca, the woman you've been longing for these past eight years, and... my son with her."

The first half was fine. The second instantly turned Butcher's face livid.

"Your son? He's a bastard Becca gave birth to in endless agony!" Butcher roared.

Homelander remained unmoved, though he looked somewhat displeased. "Watch your language. His name is Ryan. If you still want to take Becca away, be a little more polite."

Butcher's anger instantly died, as though a bucket of cold water had been poured over him.

His eyes widened in disbelief, and even his fists clenched involuntarily.

"What did you say?" He couldn't believe his ears.

Homelander maintained his previous posture. "I mean you can take Becca away."

Such openness instead left Butcher silent.

Only after a long while
