At that moment, Private Angel, who had been watching from a distance, saw that the two had stopped fighting and jogged over.
Bombsight looked rather surprised. He studied her for a long while before speaking uncertainly. "Private Angel? After all these years, you're still alive!"
Private Angel rolled her eyes. "Thanks to you, I nearly died just now."
She immediately noticed their awkward predicament and couldn't help laughing. "Wait here, you two old chain-smokers. I'll go buy a lighter."
With that, she turned and walked gracefully toward a nearby convenience store.
Soldier Boy was puzzled. "Haven't you been following the trending news? Private Angel rejoined The Seven ages ago. She hasn't appeared much, but surely it doesn't warrant this much surprise?"
"I'm old. Can't keep up with the times. Don't like watching that news." Bombsight's eyes held a weary look.
Soldier Boy looked him up and down. "Compared to how I remember you decades ago, you haven't changed a bit."
Bombsight sighed. "I meant at heart, understand? I've lived in this world too long. However much I once loved the spotlight, that's how much I'm sick of all that noise now."
Soldier Boy let out a long sigh and pointed at the crater blasted into the ground. "See that? If you hadn't been showing off, I wouldn't have beaten you up just now."
Bombsight caught his implication but wasn't annoyed. He shrugged. "Ben, I mean it. You were frozen for so many years that you're really only forty or fifty. It's fine if you don't understand what I'm saying now. You will when you're my age."
Hearing that, Soldier Boy couldn't help clenching his fists.
He knew all too well what kind of asshole Bombsight was. The man couldn't stand not showing off.
I really want another good, all-out fight.
