Soldier Boy strode to the shore and began relieving himself, whistling.

He really could not stand Kailong's melodramatic tone. Going to the bathroom was just an excuse to disgust it some more.

A moment later, Soldier Boy sauntered back.

He raised his eyebrows at Homelander. "Done, John. I haven't seen you take a piss in hours. You can really hold it."

Homelander looked a little smug. "Healthy kidneys."

"Shit." Soldier Boy rolled his eyes. "Drinking milk all the time really does make a difference."

Homelander: "..."

Soldier Boy ignored Homelander's expression of embarrassment turning to anger and crouched beside Kailong.

"Go on, little seafood. Where were we?"

Kailong felt it was about to break down. Its rose-tinted view of the legendary hero before it shattered completely, and it suddenly felt like a fool being toyed with in the palm of his hand.

But it still swallowed its humiliation. "I was saying that I ate my younger cousin, bite by bite. Do you know how much that hurt?"

"It hurt so much I wanted to... wanted to eat her all over again!"

Kailong suddenly burst into wild laughter, its entire body convulsing and its tentacles flailing.

Soldier Boy moved back a few steps in disgust, wondering whether this seafood really had gone insane.

Homelander took the opportunity to study Kailong intently.

Unfortunately, the sight he had hoped for did not appear. Kailong's body remained in its smoky form.

Apparently, not every emotion could affect its phasing power. Only anger could.

"John, ask The Deep later whether Ambrosius was poisonous. Eating her's messed Kailong up."

Soldier Boy continued to ignore Kailong's emotions and spoke flatly.

Kailong stopped laughing. "You think I'm insane? No, no, no. I'm perfectly lucid. More lucid than ever."

"In fact, there were only two paths before me today."
