Heavy storm clouds split the entire world in two. Below them lay the splendor built from steel and concrete, with the bustling people serving as the veins that sustained it. Above them, Homelander, who could tower over everything, streaked unstoppably across the sky.

"John, slow down!" Soldier Boy shouted.

He sat on Homelander's back, clutching a bottle of whiskey he had just bought from a convenience store, but the wind blew so hard he could not open his eyes.

Homelander turned his head slightly, his humiliation already at its peak.

He swore he had never been so embarrassed in his life. If Soldier Boy had not coaxed and threatened him, he would never have agreed to fly facedown as a mount.

Homelander lowered his eyes slightly and looked at Gideon, unconscious in his right hand, and the rather unhappy Queen Maeve dangling from his left. Once again, he was speechless.

He could not understand why Queen Maeve, normally so steady and reliable, would also be enthusiastic about riding him through the air.

"Shit... I've had enough," Homelander muttered. Pretending not to hear Soldier Boy's complaints, he sped up.

An instant later, a sonic boom erupted.

The sonic boom beside his ears made Soldier Boy uncomfortable, and he could not help throwing away the whiskey and covering his ears.

With his powers no longer working, his defenses were no different from an ordinary person's. His eardrums simply could not withstand an impact like that.

"Fuck you!" he cursed, clenching his fist and hammering Homelander's back.

Homelander did not notice Soldier Boy. He kept up his speed as Vought Tower drew closer and closer.

After a sudden dive, he stopped in front of the sliding window of the Seven's Meeting Room. The roller blind had been drawn, blocking the view inside.
